The space This is a quirky, c.300 year old building and is part of a group of buildings on the Ambleside Heritage Trail that are the oldest in the town. The site was the first to be settled in what is now Ambleside, over 1,000 years ago. It is constructed of Lakeland stone and is Grade 2 Listed. The walls are 2 feet thick and the interior contains ships timbers salvaged from the Cumbrian coast. The kitchen and wet room are new and contemporary, yet blend with the old world feel of the apartment. There is always plenty of hot water to relax under the shower after a day in the fells and the wood burning stove provides a cosy focal point in the evenings. Guest access Free on site private parking right at the door, with secure bicycle storage in our stone outbuilding or house lobby if required. Free wood for the stove, gas central heating, electric underfloor heating to wet room & kitchen, shaver point, library of maps guidebooks & local tourist information, board games, tv, dvd player, free Wi-Fi, electric ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave oven, Krups capsule coffee maker with sample capsules, Bosch dishwasher, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, hair dryer, cool mat for hair straighteners. Other things to note Please note - YOU WILL NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN HAND & SHOWER TOWELS. We will show you how best to light and use the wood burning stove. We also provide a booklet of useful local information including doctor, dentist, hospital, etc. If you would like to use the small capacity washing machine in the lobby of our entrance, we will need to make a charge of £10 per load. We accept stays of no less than x5 nights. Unfortunately, we do not accept dogs.
