Description

Historic cottage in the heart of an all year round, vibrant, gorgeous Cornish community. Tucked away on iconic Stippy Stappy, a row of nine cottages that feature in "Poldark" books. Number 2, at the top of the row, is a few doors down from St Agnes's famous bakery and set in a UNESCO World Heritage coastline setting. Walk to the sandy shores of Trevaunance Cove and Chapel Porth or explore numerous independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Come and stay in a part of Cornish history! The space No. 2 Stippy Stappy is a historic stone cottage which retains its character, whilst offering a modern bright interior and an attractive enclosed garden. Stippy Stappy is a famous landmark for St Agnes, made up of nine Grade II Listed 18th century cottages in the heart of St Agnes, heading down a wooded valley towards the beach. No. 2 is well positioned near the top of Stippy Stappy placing it close to all the town's popular amenities including the independent shops and award winning places to eat. Accommodation is beautifully furnished and full of character with many of its original features remaining. There are 2 bedrooms which sleep 4 in one double and twin beds ( 2 x 2'6" ). Beds are made up for arrival. All linen / bath towels provided (please bring cot sheets and beach towels). The bathroom is on the first floor and has both a bath and a large walk in shower. The bright living room has an open fire and eating area for 4, with free fast WiFi (35-39 download, 8-9 upload), smart TV, complimentary games and books. Outside there is a sheltered, enclosed sunny rear garden with views down the back of Stippy Stappy. At the front door there is patio seating, where you can spend many hours sitting in the sunshine, chatting to people on their way up or down the Stippy Stappy path towards the beaches or bakery. We welcome well-behaved dogs but ask that they are never left unattended in the cottage and are kept off the furniture. Please bring your own dog bedding so that they can feel at home. Please note there is no designated parking for the cottage. Multiple parking options are available close by; either on the roadside outside the cottage, or if this is not available, there is free roadside parking all around the village. There is also a pay and display central village car park. We are happy to advise on the best spots and there is space to unload on arrival. We offer short breaks at certain times of the year, minimum of three nights. Between the end of May - beginning of September our bookings commence on a Saturday and are a minimum of 7 nights. For quotes please contact us. We believe Aggie has everything. It’s an unspoilt spot on the North Cornish coast within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a World Heritage Site. It’s home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Cornwall and it’s got direct access to some stunning coast paths and walks. 2 Stippy Stappy is a 10 min stroll to the nearest sandy beach, Trevaunance with its fabulous rock pools and renowned surf. The town is full of independent shops, businesses and great places to eat. The village website is full of information about local events, celebrations, local beaches and the surrounding area. See more on visitstagnes page or under our house site stippystappy. We are happy to recommend surf schools, etc, please just ask. Please note if national restrictions apply due to Covid we will of course offer a refund or change reservation dates, whatever your preference. Thank you for looking! Guest access Whole house / private garden - access via key code so anytime arrival works! Other things to note Sarah and Steven live in St Agnes. We are a 10 minute walk away so are on hand for any enquiries_ stippystappy. Sarah is a midwife and Steven is a designer. We hope if you stay at Stippy Stappy it adds to some wonderful memories for you. Parking: Like the majority of cottages in the centre of St Agnes we do not have private parking. There are four spaces on the roadside directly outside with space to unload. These spaces become available regularly as they are often used whilst people pop into the bakery a few doors up. Alternatively there are many roads nearby with free parking. Our preference is Trevaunace road less than 100 yards away where there is a always lots of roadside parking. There is also a large free car park in the centre of the village, 3 mins walk from the cottage. The cottage is on a one way street. Also of note is that the village is set at the top of the coastline, so it is a steep walk down to the beach and stippystappy itself. Have a look for historical photos to get an idea - stippystappy is very much a landmark for the village :-). The cottage is unfortunately not suitable for mobility impaired individuals.
