The "PEA POD in the Emerald Forest" is located in the woods at The Zen Farmhouse, a historic 1878 farm in the CATSKILLS MOUNTAINS. The area has many charming historic villages within a 30 - 45 minute radius. Hurleyville is the closest, and has been revitalized with many wonderful amenities - the Pickled Owl & Tango Restaurants - La Salumina - Gallery 222 - Fiber Arts - The Yoga Space - the Hurleyville Performing Arts Center and 8+ mile trail on the wide paved trail along a pristine marsh. The "PEA POD" is a vintage off-the-grid "glamping" trailer nettled in a fern forest. It has 2 comfortable single beds, a well-stocked mini kitchen - with a stove top, ice box; a tiny bathroom with shower, well water & out side a fire pit, table and hammock. Lots of varieties of birds and the deer will definitely check you out! You will need to bring your own sleeping bags (bedding), plus anything else you need for an enjoyable camping experience. This is a turn-off your phone, GETTING BACK to Nature camping experience. Lanterns and candles provided - no electricity. You will have access to the fields and woods. You will have as much privacy as you want. Not far from Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center and Museum (19 miles), on the edge of Catskill Park, lots of small towns to explore, many ashrams and monasteries for those spiritually minded; world class fishing in Roscoe; the famous "Monster" Golf course and many other beautiful, reasonably priced golf courses. A great get away in a peaceful setting surrounded by wild life, clear night skies with lots of stars and fireflies; only 90 miles from Manhattan. This is a rural area and you will need a vehicle. The "Pea Pod" is close to Catskill Park, the Gunks, Liberty, Monticello, Livingston Manor, Roscoe & Bethel Woods. Great walking & biking on beautiful country roads and the Rails-to-Trails; a Kundalini Yoga Studio & massage therapist within walking distance, Sivananda Yoga Ranch, SYDA Foundation, Stage Door, wonderful hiking trails, golf, swimming, rafting, kayaking, horseback riding, local spas; antiquing, wineries, breweries and many great restaurants.
