Welcome to the most secluded spot on Little Gasparilla Island! Our Beach Cottage property is on the beach with all-natural surroundings: a state park, a mangrove lagoon, and the Gulf of Mexico. It boasts front views of the water and gorgeous island sunsets year-round. You'll also have boat space on our private docks and share our amenities including kayaks, paddle boards, a full outdoor kitchen and dining area, a fire pit, and a coffee/smoothie bar with complimentary coffee. Truly unique! Little Gasparilla is accessible only by boat (Water Taxi available) which means no cars, no crowds, and no commercial activity. Just miles of natural beauty. Two bedrooms (King plus two singles) Accommodates up to 4 guests. One full bath on the main level and one 1/2 bath plus an outdoor shower at ground level (underneath the house) for easy access from the beach. Use of dock, outdoor kitchen, fire pit and recreational gear (including kayaks and paddle board) Little a Gasparilla is a long, very narrow barrier island. Our Beach Cottage fronts the Gulf of Mexico and is just a short walk from the bayside dock (850 feet) along our private boardwalk. Access from the beach is also by private boardwalk. NOT HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE! This is an elevated island beach house that requires negotiating docks, boats, and stairs without assistance. Since there is no bridge to the island you'll park your car and catch "Pirate's Water Taxi" (or launch your own boat) at Eldred's Marina in Placida, FL. It's about a 20min boat ride to our dock at the far north end of the island (Dock #2). Access to the house is "contactless". We'll have it open for you when you arrive. Since you'll probably not want to leave the island much during your stay, you'll bring your groceries along with your luggage on your initial trip over. (You can "order ahead" at mainland grocery stores and, if you like, you can even arrange for "Island Grocery Delivery" to pick them up and put them in the house for your arrival.) We also provide hand carts to conveniently move your luggage from the dock to the house. But there's no need to pack much---you'll be surprised how little you need. -Granite countertops -Wood floors -Fully stocked kitchen -Toaster, Blender, Espresso/Cappuccino Maker, Stove, Oven, Grill (propane included) -Washer and dryer (laundry soap & dryer sheets included) -Dishwasher (liquid dish soap and dishwasher detergent included) -Beach chairs, beach canopy -Smart TV (You can watch your own Netflix or Hulu account) & DVD collection (No Cable) Note: We supply only a initial (limited) amount of bath soap, shampoo, paper towels or toilet paper. The Bay House, nearby, but out of view from the Beach Cottage, is our full-time residence. While check in is "contactless", if we are on the island when you arrive we hope to be able to greet you, answer any questions, and help you with your bags. If not, just make yourselves at home. Either we or our property manager will be on call to help you if you need it. Little Gasparilla Island is a bridge-less barrier island with no cars, stores or restaurants of any kind. It is only accessible by boat---the local water taxi or personal or rented boat. This makes for a very private and quiet vacation, but it does require a little more planning. We suggest making a detailed grocery list ahead of time and picking it up from the Publix that is just a 10 minute drive from the marina. There is plenty of room on the water taxi for all your belongings and groceries. You can tie up (or be dropped off) at the Dock #2, which is adjacent to the Boat House. Handcarts will be waiting on the dock for you if you'd like to use them. We live on this beautiful island but won’t stick around in the event of a hurricane or Red Tide--and we don’t expect you to either! So, if you cancel at anytime for hurricane or Red Tide, we will work with AirBnB to help you get a full refund. And if either happens while you are staying with us, we will gladly refund rent and taxes for any unused nights. Another guest house and at times even our main residence, on this 5+ acre property are available for short-term rentals. They each maintain total privacy but share access to some amenities including: -Kayaks & a paddle boards -A fire pit (wood included), -An outdoor "Bistro" kitchen and dining area -Beach gear -A smoothie & coffee bar (with complimentary coffee).
