Redwood Lodge: A hidden retreat

Unwind in your very own log cabin, Redwood Lodge which sits nestled in the shade of a giant redwood tree. The cabin sits in the grounds of our home, Redwood House. It's peaceful and private. The cabin is well located for Ascot, the New Forest, Windsor, Coral Reef Waterworld, Beale Wildlife Park, Go-Ape Bracknell, Lapland, Legoland, Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures. We are also near the Royal Military Academy, Wellington College and Heathrow airport. The space The entire cabin was newly refurbished in October 2021 and is very quiet. It sleeps a max. of 4 people (1 double bed and 1 sofa bed in the lounge). There is 1 bedroom with a double bed, wardrobe, mirror and a hairdryer. The main living area has a comfortable seating area (which also doubles as the sofa bed) with a 32 inch smart TV (digital access to Netflix/YouTube, iPlayer etc.), kitchen and dining area. There is also a shoe rack, coat stand and a tower fan to keep you cool. We offer free WiFi access. There is no oven in the cabin but we have a microwave, full sized fridge, kettle and toaster as well as a cafetière, teapot, cutlery, dishes and cups, etc. We can supply a air fryer on request. During your stay we will also supply you with complimentary tea, ground coffee, sugar and fresh semi-skimmed milk. Off the main living area is a bathroom with a shower, wash basin and toilet. We supply hand-wash, body wash and shampoo as well as bath and hand towels. The bedroom is carpeted and has a comfortable double bed, 2 bedside tables, 2 lamps and a wardrobe with a drawer and hangers. The bedroom has 2 Velux windows in the roof with shades and a large window with blinds. Guest access The cabin is situated within the grounds of our home, Redwood House. You will be able to park right outside the cabin. We have ample off-road private parking. Although pets are not allowed (as we have a nervous rescue cat), we welcome guide dogs. The entire cabin is level and has double doors at the entrance which makes it suitable for anyone with mobility issues (though note that internally we don't have adjustments, e.g., all doors are standard width and we don't have adjustments inside the bathroom). Local amenities: There is an array of shops just a 5 min walk away including a local Tesco and Co-Op, a Greggs bakery, fish and chips shop and various takeaways and restaurants including an excellent Chinese restaurant and pizza takeaway. For a good Indian restaurant we can recommend one in nearby Crowthorne which also does deliveries. If you are a keen cyclist we have access to some great roads and off-road cycling. There are also some lovely walks in Swinley Forest and Simon's Wood. If you prefer watersports you can visit the Horseshoe Lake Watersports centre where you can indulge in open water swimming at weekends or launch your own paddle board or kayak. Nearby attractions: GoApe Bracknell Lapland UK Ascot Racecourse Legoland Windsor Castle Thorpe Park Savill Garden Travel connections: We are a 2 minute walk to Sandhurst station - connections to London via Reading (20 mins), Wokingham (15 mins) and Guildford (25 mins). Heathrow is also just 30-35 minutes away. Driving: Ascot - 30 minutes Reading - 30 minutes. Richmond - 40 minutes. Windsor - 30 minutes. Guildford - 35 minutes. Wokingham - 20 minutes. Other things to note House rules: We ask guests respectfully that: - No shoes are worn inside the cabin (we have a shoe rack available). - No extra guests permitted (unless by prior arrangement). - No parties allowed. - No bicycles allowed inside the cabin (you are welcome to leave them outside). They will be safe as we have security cameras on-site.
