The perfect mountain retreat on a small private ranch overlooking the Roaring Fork River Valley. Enjoy the beautiful ground level apartment with shady and comfortable covered patio and native plant landscaping with great views of Mt. Sopris and various wildlife visitors. This is a one bedroom and one bath semi-remote paradise with an open large living room, dining area and kitchenette with sink and basic cooking equipment. Ample free parking and easy access to Glenwood, Carbondale, & Aspen. The space We use the upper unit of this home, but the lower level is locked off for you to enjoy privately. Views of Mount Sopris are stunning and the covered patio is perfect for BBQ dining, lounging, bird watching, and star gazing. Enjoy the wildlife and bathe in nature on this private Colorado Ranch. Your suite is complete with queen bed, full bathroom, sleeper sofa (with queen mattress), desk, tv with Roku, dining table, refrigerator, and simple kitchen. Kitchenette includes: coffee maker, microwave, toaster, electric tea kettle, 12’ electric skillet, basic cooking utensils, silverware, dishes, and glassware. You are also welcome to use the propane grill under the covered patio. Pack and play crib (without mattress or sheets) also available. Just off Hwy 82, the driveway is steeply graded gravel to the the front of the house, park to give access to the garages. Your private entrance is around front through the double glass doors under the covered patio. (4 wheel drive or AWD is a “MUST”, spring, fall, and winter in case of snow and generally recommended.) Guest access The entire apartment in the lower level of the home is yours to enjoy. We encourage you to wander the front yard and take in the mountain views. Enjoy sitting on the patio or grilling and dining there. There is a bocce court in the backyard and ping pong/foosball table in the garage you are free to use as well. We may or may not be in the (completely separate) upstairs unit during your visit. If we are, we try to give our guests space and privacy and avoid using the outdoor spaces when guests are around. Other things to note As previously mentioned, the driveway is steep and winding gravel. Please drive carefully! Our property is wilderness certified and we get a ton of wildlife! Please enjoy the these visitors from a distance and don’t feed the animals. (A fed bear is a dead bear as the saying goes. And yes! We get bears!) For bear safety, do not leave ANY food or trash outside or in your car, particularly at night.
