The ocean-view kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator/freezer, electric range and oven, microwave, and dishwasher. The great room has spectacular ocean views. It is furnished with chairs, a sofa bed that can sleep two, and a flat screen TV. Both bedrooms have a queen bed, an ocean view, and an en-suite full bath. One bedroom also has a sofa bed that can sleep 1 adult or two children. Palmetto Point is home to the popular Mate and Jenny’s restaurant, as well as several stores. La Bougainvillea Resort with its excellent restaurant and bar is also just a mile away. Tippy’s beachfront restaurant is a 5-minute drive. A ten-minute drive takes you into Governors Harbor, the main town on the island. Governors Harbor has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. Buy fresh fish and lobster most afternoons from fisherman at the town dock, or visit the recently restored Haynes Library, which dates from 1897, for the weekly coffee hour for foreign residents and tourists. Governors Harbor has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, and a medical clinic. Friday Night Fish Fry in Governors Harbor, a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street, is not to be missed.
