Description

Welcome to the beautiful Valley of the Moon! Enjoy Napa and Sonoma wine country from this lovely cottage in a peaceful vineyard, flower and food garden. Our area attracts artists, foodies, nature-lovers and people seeking to unwind and rejuvenate. The cottage sits along a quiet creekside country road, perfect for walks. It is surrounded by vineyards, wineries, small farms and oak woodlands, yet just 8 minutes/3 miles from Sonoma square, 20 minutes/15 miles from Napa, and 38 miles from SF. The space See photos, click for captions. The cottage is a relaxing, magical getaway! Kick back with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine on the cottage front porch overlooking the vineyard. At your feet, enjoy the lavender and native plant garden busy with hummingbirds, bumblebees and butterflies. Pick a few tomatoes or sample one of the many fruit trees in the garden. Join us in lavender harvest in June and again in August, grape harvest & crush in September, or olive harvest in November. The little country road out front runs along a wooded creek and is popular with walkers and joggers. There are numerous local hiking options, local scenic bike routes of all lengths and levels, and even bike rentals in downtown Sonoma. Locally down at the beautiful historic Square, enjoy strolling and shopping, and the numerous restaurants, wine bars and cafes - from Michelin-starred to relaxed local family style, and many options in between. Don't miss the unique and eclectic offerings at the historic Sebastiani Theatre, and local history at the Mission and barracks. A few miles north of the cottage, explore the village of Glen Ellen, and don't miss Jack London State Historic Park, both for beautiful hiking and the fascinating museum (Charmian!) Glen Ellen has a delicious French bakery and cafe', and several wonderful restaurants of note. Guest access Enjoy the peaceful cottage and surrounding courtyard, vineyard and gardens. We live in a house on the back half acre, and the two properties share a common roomy parking area and the driveway down the vineyard. The cottage and house are completely separate and private. You may occasionally see us out and about doing vineyard or garden work. Other things to note * We offer substantial discounts for longer stays. This should calculate automatically for your stay dates. Additionally, the local "short term occupancy tax" of 12% is waived for 30 day+ stays. * If needed, a washer, dryer, drying rack and laundry supplies are available adjacent to the cottage for your laundry needs. Just ask! *The cottage garage is storage for host use. * Smart Roku TV - simply log into your own accounts....but don't forget to enjoy the sunsets, discover why this area is called "Valley of the Moon", and listen to the owls and chorus frogs. Evenings and nights here can be absolutely magical! * Sonoma County TOT certificate # 1399N
