Situated in a rural area at the foot of Carrock Fell, and near Blencathra and Skiddaw there are many great walks setting off from the doorstep or go wild swimming in the nearby river or Bowscale tarn. Nearby pubs, The Mill at Mungrisdale (1.5 miles) The Old Crown at Hesket Newmarket (5 miles) serve food and drinks. A quiet location but just a short drive to Keswick, Derwent Water, Ullswater, Thirlmere and Bassenthwaite lakes.
