You’ll love our 2nd floor Master Bedroom Suite in our eclectic Pueblo style home. Private balcony, bath, Jacuzzi tub & double shower. We are far enough from the city to be peaceful & stargaze, but close enough to San Diego's attractions. Come rest & rejuvenate your soul at your home away from home, Mystic Canyon Inn! The space The Master Suite with its own private bath is located on the second floor of our Pueblo style home and is perfect for a couples getaway. The split king-sized bed is a medium density memory foam mattress with gel top, (so that it doesn’t overheat). For a 3rd guest, or upon request we can add a twin size rollaway bed. The Master Suite also has its own mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We have 2 other rooms on this floor of the house that are rented separately. This room is the only one with private bath and balcony and is the first door at the top of the stairs. Our home is eclectic, country, relaxed and homey. We have a cat as well as chickens. Our property has a wild, natural, laid back feeling. If you are looking for a sterile, manicured, pristine hotel environment, respectfully, this may not be the place for you! If you like roosters crowing, coyotes howling, stars shining, unique decor and a positive energy vibe, then you will love our place! The master bathroom has a dual head shower, a deep sunken Jacuzzi tub, dual Talavera sinks and a toilet room with separate door for privacy. We also have a jetted hot tub on the back patio of the house that is available for guest use. You can stargaze while you soak! Let us know if you’d like to use it and we will turn up the temperature! The room has a TV with cable and WiFi. Outside the double French doors is your large private balcony with a fabulous view, complete with two lounge chairs, a sofa and a patio table with chairs. Roll down shades and turn the balcony into an extra room! Downstairs is a living room with gas fireplace, for relaxing, playing board games or chatting with other guests. We live downstairs in a separate area. Our playful cat Willow also lives here and may pop out to say “Hello!” We are located in Harbison Canyon, a rural community on the east side of El Cajon, near Alpine. We offer you cofee, tea, oatmeal and muffins to get something in your belly before you take off for an adventure. On our back patio we have set up an a camping style rustic outdoor kitchen for our guests' use. In the house entryway, we have a table set up with Keurig beverages and water that is available 24 hrs. Come enjoy the countryside, conveniently located just 35 minutes from downtown San Diego and popular tourist attractions like Comic-Con, the San Diego Zoo and the world-famous beaches. 35 minutes east you will find beautiful Mount Laguna, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, Pacific Crest Trail access and the town of Julian. About an hour east brings you to the desert, where natural beauty and recreation abound. 13 miles away, Viejas Casino boasts a beautiful outlet center. 4 miles away, Sycuan has a casino with entertainment and the golf resort of Singing Hills. Come enjoy the slower pace of the San Diego backcountry. Harbison Canyon, a little hamlet between the towns of El Cajon and Alpine, California was named for John Stewart Harbison who was actually a bee keeper who moved here in 1874. After 7 years he was reported to be the largest honey producer in the world. Harbison Canyon has an old reputation of being a biker haven with Big Oak Ranch and home to a nudist colony called the Swallows! The Ranch has been closed for years, but the Swallows is still there, rebuilt after the 2003 Cedar Fire that burned it to the ground. You can't help craning your neck a little as you drive by, even tho' the new fence is pretty solid! Nowadays there's not much going on here, although bikers of all kinds like to bike through our little scenic byway, stopping only to buy refreshment at the Canyon Store, a short walk from our place. Across the street from the store is Old Ironsides Park which boasts a nearly year-round stream, beautiful oak trees, 3 playgrounds, picnic area and old Kumeyaay Indian relics which can be found near the stream. So, hike, bike or drive yourself to our little haven and say goodbye to the hustle and bustle! Guest access Guests are welcome to use our downstairs living room, our guest kitchen located on the back patio and any sitting areas located outdoors in our garden. During your stay We enjoying chatting with our guests, but respect their privacy as well. Other things to note Our home is eclectic in design and decoration. We enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere at home and when we travel. We try to protect the environment as much as possible. While we offer a clean environment, we do not use harsh chemicals, pesticides or herbicides on our property. You might see a few weeds and possibly bugs or lizards in our garden! We have free ranging chickens, as well as a friendly cat.
