Half way between Houston and Austin on U.S. 290, The Roost is in the heart of historic Burton walking distance to local restaurants and live music on the weekends. Burton is a great place to breathe, relax and visit with Polly our genuine free chicken. The best part of staying at The Roost is that you are walking distance from restaurants and live music. Get out of the city--no traffic jams here!! Close to Brenham, 9 miles from Round Top (#bigtimesmall), Carmine, Bellville, Fayetteville, Giddings and Lake Somerville state park. The Roost is inspired by our Gen.U.Ine Free Spirit chicken, Polly. There once was a Gen.U.Ine Free chicken named Polly whose adventurous spirit compelled her to hitch a ride in the back of her previous owner’s pick-up truck. Her loving family owns The Blue Willow Cafe in the nearby town of Burton. Burton offered scope for the imagination and places to explore. Once in Burton, she hopped out of the pick-up and made her way to a creative destination dedicated to those who can’t be caged. Polly flew her coop to Flown The Coop. How cool is that?
