Description
Located 10 miles NW of Wimberley, TX in the Blanco river valley. Majestic oaks, starry nights and a wonderful, quiet stone house so comfortable you won't want to leave. Adults only, must be 21 years of age to reserve. Longer stays with reduced pricing are possible, subject to existing reservations. The space As you enter the driveway you'll pass a magnificent 200 year old oak tree and enter the cottage thru a spacious outdoor living area with a view of the garden. We have laying hens in the coop along the driveway and most afternoons we let them out to free range. Pull up a chair with your favorite beverage and enjoy "chick TV"!! Thick stone exterior walls make for a quiet, relaxing retreat. A fully equipped kitchen and casual dining center around a handcrafted cherry wood topped island. The living area, anchored by a floor to ceiling rock fireplace, beckons you with comfy sofa and sumptuous leather chairs. Light fills the living area thru large patio doors opening onto a screened porch that extends across the entire back of the house with relaxing seating and dining. Outside off the stone patio is a deck overlooking a dry creek. Tucked behind the oak tree is a (cold) outdoor shower. Enjoy a peaceful night's rest on a queen size bed in a quiet, cozy bedroom. The spacious bathroom, with a window to the garden, has a large tiled shower with a stone floor. Guest access Guest have access to entire property including deck overlooking a dry creek, grill area, outdoor shower (cold only) and a large garden with a greenhouse - perfect for morning jo and evening beverages... check it out! The garden area is shared with the tenant in the house next door. Other things to note The Cowboy is great for a couple or friends that want to get away, cook a great meal and chill. Excellent setting for artist and writers. Internet access for browsing and streaming music, satellite TV, AT&T cell service - all others iffy. Guest supply their own firewood, which can be purchased locally at HEB, Ace Hardware and Brookshire Bro’s. Duraflame type logs are not allowed. For your listening enjoyment, we have the Sonos wireless speaker system that you can access by downloading the Sonos app. Pandora and Sonos music is provided and you can also add your own music service. Many scenic drives, an award winning regional park-Blue Hole in Wimberley, famous Jacobs Well natural area, Emily Ann theatre, The Wimberley Players theater and local restaurants, to name a few : Mima's (TexMex), The Leaning Pear, Wimberley Cafe, Chills, The Shady Llama (beer/wine, great views) and others. Casual attire at all establishments. And don't forget the many shops in and around the town square. Book your stay over the first Saturday, March thru December, and enjoy Market Days - a flea market that draws shoppers from across the region.
