We offer a sustainably furnished, comfy garage loft apartment completed in early 2016. Furnished with a queen bed and a double futon, this apartment can sleep four. Included are all the amenities: dishwasher, washer/dryer, refrigerator, ceiling fans, air conditioning, tv and Internet. Although this apartment is situated in the small town of Battle Ground, it has a country feel to it. Surrounded by many large trees, the creek-bordered property is filled with varied and abundant birdsong, and a gentle breeze rustles the leaves of the towering sugar maples. The bedroom windows afford a view of the pastoral setting beyond the creek, and nature surrounds us. If you arrive late, motion sensors will activate lights to illuminate your way. With a reservation, we will forward instructions to for opening the walk gate. There is an entrance key to the garage as well as a coded security dead bolt to the apartment. Our history: he is a builder, she is a health care professional, and together we are urban farmers, lovers of the land and nature, and stewards of our environment. Translated this means we are active, we have projects, and more closely resemble a mini farm than just a small town residence. We have lots going on and have the tools, materials, and items needed for a "farming/building" lifestyle . What is the feel of where we live? We're nestled at the edge of a quiet, small town, mostly a bed room community, close to a state park. Hearing the wolves howling faintly in the winter time at Wolf Park just up the road, isn't uncommon. And at night, we often hear the coyotes yipping from across the creek. The 8 A.M.train to Chicago sounds as it makes it's way through town. Seeing the occasional wild turkey wander along, honking geese and migrating cranes making their way to the Pulaski Nature Reserve, are commonplace. Parking on the property is not an issue...out front or in the drive... But not in front of the larger garage door, please. There is no local transportation, tho Uber can provide a ride if you call them. We are about 7-8 miles from the north side of Lafayette/West Lafayette/Purdue. In our "packet of information" there is a lot of info on routes, destination points, and general information. First, for better or worse we live next to the "tracks", railroad, that is. Depending on one's perspective, we are on the wrong side or the right side. On occasion, it is annoying...about .5% of the time or less. You might take a pause if outside in conversation ... The other 99.5% it is the quiet side street of small town living. AmTrack rolls through about 7:55 AM and 9:45 PM daily with misc. freighters during the day. It has become an interesting awareness into one part of the freighting business and the transportation of goods across the United States. The db sound meter hits 56 inside the apartment and 87 next to an open window facing the street. Other than that enjoy the local attractions if your time allows. We have assembled a fairly complete listing of area amenities and attractions. Also, I have had this concern on security cameras, exterior and interior when staying at other ABB's.
