Yellow Cottage, Doolin
Yellow Cottage dates back to the late 1800s and was originally built for the family who worked the surrounding fields. The cottage has been restored to keep much of the original character, complemented by carefully selected period pieces to maintain its authentic charm. It is a short drive from Doolin village and the famous music pubs. The Cottage has a lovely outdoor space surrounded by a rock garden and has views across Doolin village, the Cliffs of Moher and the Atlantic Coast. The space The Cottage is in Tournahoon, around 3.5KM from Doolin Village and around 3.5KM from Lisdoonvarna. Tournahoon is a small hamlet of around a half a dozen houses. Guest access This is a standalone property and you have full use of the Cottage and complete privacy Other things to note To help make thing as smooth and easy as possible, here are a few “frequently asked questions” and answers. Of course, if there is something we haven’t covered please do get in touch. How long should we spend at the Cottage to see the area? The commonest feedback we receive from guests is that they wish they had stayed longer. We’d say three days is a good balance between the desire to see all of Ireland and the desire to see all that the area has to offer. Our minimum stay is two nights; of course you can stay longer (we have guests who have stated for a month and still felt they needed a bit longer to see everything!). Can we get to the Cottage by public transport (or walking)? You can… but it would be quite a challenge. The nearest bus stop is at the bottom of the hill and it is a fair walk to the Cottage. You’d then find it a bit tiresome (and tiring) trying to get around without a car. Cycling is a good option. We have had guests who have stayed at the Cottage on their cycle tour around Ireland. There is a secure shed for bikes to be stored in overnight. What are the arrangements for check-in? Three days prior to arrival you will receive check-in details and one of our team will be in contact on the day of arrival also once the cottage is ready for check-in. If you are arriving really late then that’s fine too, we will leave the Cottage open for you and we will come by the next day to say “hello” and make sure you are settled. There will be a small Welcome Pack waiting for you, with tea, coffee, etc; enough to keep you going before you get to the shops.
