The Byre is a self contained studio apartment located just 3 minutes from the A30. Within easy reach of Dartmoor National Park, the Two Moors Way, cathedral city of Exeter and the coast, this property is a little gem. Sympathetically renovated in 2019, it retains the original oak beams, inglenook fireplace and undulating cob walls which are up to a metre thick. Our central heating ensures you have a cosy stay but feel free to light the wood burner to enhance your stay in the winter months. The space The Byre is a stunning studio apartment with a well equipped kitchen, a compact bathroom including a power shower and comfortable lounge area with wide screen smart TV. You will have your own garden and patio area for relaxation. The property overlooks fields with horses often grazing along the fence. We have two lawned areas, one specifically for guests to enjoy the tranquillity of rural Devon. Cycles can be safely stored in the padlocked garage if required. We have OS and local maps that you can borrow with cycle routes and footpaths clearly marked. Unfortunately the property is not suitable for wheelchair users as the Byre is accessed via external stairs. There is a key pad which you may prefer to use to avoid contact during this Covid 19 situation. The Byre has Wi-Fi but Internet is not as fast as urban areas. Other things to note There is a village pub about 5 minutes walk, a local shop and bus route to Exeter or North Cornwall. All the surrounding villages have pubs and we have an organic farm shop and cafe ( Drakes) just a short drive towards Whiddon Down. There are 5 open air, heated swimming pools on the National Park, the nearest being Chagford and Moretonhampstead.
