Named for the historic steamboat Julia Dean that called on Pocahontas in the steamboat era, this 860 square foot (80 square meter) apartment, with its original, ornate pressed metal ceilings 14 feet (4.3 meter) overhead, is all on one level and handicapped accessible. There’s free parking right on the street steps from the door, or you can park in the large free city parking lot just a few steps down the street at the intersection of Marr Street and Pyburn Street. The space The living/dining area includes: • Free Wi-Fi, telephone, and a large flat screen cable television. • A comfortable reclining chair. • If you have more than two people in your group, we will set up air mattresses for the third and fourth people, with sheets, pillows, and blanket. • A dining area with table for four people. • A desk large enough to get some work done, if you must. • Thermostat control for the apartment’s central heating and air conditioning system. If you’re so inclined, you can save money when traveling by preparing some of your own meals. The fully-equipped kitchen includes: • Utensils, wine glasses, silverware, plates, pots, pans. We even stock a few cookbooks in case you want to experience the joy of cooking in your free time. • Gas cook top and oven. • Refrigerator with ice maker. • Dishwasher. • Small appliances including toaster, blender, and a Keurig single-cup coffeemaker. Guests are welcome to use the clothes washer and dryer, iron and ironing board in the apartment’s utility room. The bedroom features: • A king sized bed with high threadcount sheets, both firm and soft pillows, and comforter. >> A king sized bed is 76 inches wide × 80 inches long (1.93 meters wide x 2.03 meters long) • Luxury bathrobes for your use, and slippers. • Flat screen cable television. • Since some people enjoy going to the sleep while listening to soothing sounds, the bedroom includes a “white noise machine” you can use if you wish, to produce the sound of rain or a waterfall or forest sounds. And, while Pocahontas is definitely a “sleepy little town”, if you want to sleep late some mornings, the white noise machine can easily cover up any undesired neighborhood sounds. In the bathroom you’ll find: • A skylight to let in natural light. • Ultra-clean Sanijet spa tub and shower, with fragrant bath gels for your bathing pleasure. • Heated floor • Lighted magnifying makeup mirror • Hair dryer • Towel warmer • Toilet with heated seat/Bidet with warmed water. • Enjoy oversized Turkish cotton towels and indulge in our body lotion menu, with three different European body lotions to sample. Guest access You'll have private access to the entire apartment. Other things to note For those who need it, we provide a couple of electric car chargers in the back of the Lesmeister Building, including a Tesla wall connector that supplies up to 80 amps of power.
