Charming one bedroom / one bath private cottage that is nestled up to the shore line of Lake Margaret, one of seven lakes on the Gull Lake chain. This a perfect get away while safety and social distancing is still of heightened importance. We'll ensure the cottage is very clean and professionally sanitized to its highest standards. The interior is super cozy, completely finished in knotty pine. It's the perfect romantic get away, or the perfect place to "distance". The cottage is part of a family property with a private drive that is nestled into the pines and shoreline for lots of privacy. You'll enjoy your own private dock and bonfire pit. Lake Margaret is known as the best kept secret on the chain. It is very calm and quiet with amazing sunsets and sunrises. The cottage is on shared private property so we ask you to limit your stay near by the cottage or on the dock. The Gull Lake chain can be busy and noisy at times in the summer. If neighboring noise levels are beyond reasonable, please message us and we will attempt to resolve. We're very close to the main channel of lakes, giving you quick access to several other lakes and popular hot spots such as Zorbaz and Bar Harbor. Pack your golf clubs as you'll find several courses nearby, from cheap and easy, to championship pro courses. Downtown Nisswa is a few minutes away, and the Paul Bunyan Trail is great for biking and hiking. The chain is also well known for great fishing. The summer cottage is optimized for the short MN summers. Grilling on your huge private deck will be your preferred cooking and dining choice. You'll also have a stainless steel range, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and filtered drinking water in the kitchen. Dresser storage is limited. We opted for a larger queen size bed which also makes the bedroom "super cozy", but tight. The cottage stays nice and cool on hot days. A space heater is available for those cool MN nights. There is also a nice private bonfire pit close to the lake shore. We'll have some firewood available. For longer stays, more can be arranged for a small fee by notifying us in advance. The lakeshore isn't sandy or "beachy" so it may not be right for you if you're seeking a swimming or beach getaway. We encourage to bring your boat and enjoy the lakes. There is a boat launch nearby in the channel, as well as boat rental options. Your private dock can accommodate your boat during your stay. Fishing right off the dock is also enjoyable. We also have kayaks available for use. The Gull Lake Chain is a popular chain in northern MN. The cottage is tucked away and generally pretty quiet. Unlike the boundary waters, there may be an occasional "celebration" out on the lake or at a neighboring cabin. Our lake is also pretty dog friendly so you may see a friendly dog or two in the area playing around.
