Simonson Lakeside on Highland Lake

This is the first level of our home on Highland Lake. The house has been in my family since 1954. In 1983, the first level was created by my parents for their retirement home. It has been updated since then, but remains very close to what they created. The second level was completely redone in 2017. Jennifer and Peter continue to live there for the Summers in Maine (mid-June to mid- September), and expect to be there while the guests are there. The property was and continues to be set up as two separate residences. There is a connecting door, but we keep that locked when the house is occupied by two separate groups (guests and owners). The first level is a walk-out onto a deck that is 7 feet above the level of the lake. There is a dock with the water level 5 feet deep at the end. We face the West, so you will get spectacular sunsets. The lake is 640 acres. It is located 20 minutes from Downtown Portland, and 40 minutes from Freeport, home to LL Bean.
