1830's Log Cabin in the Woods

The neighbor with the dogs has moved away permanently. ;-) NOTE: 3 night minimum $25 per person per night after 2 persons. $50 Pet fee The space You are invited to step back in time to a more simple way of life. However, unlike log cabins a hundred years ago, you'll find running water, an equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a claw-foot tub. Reminiscent of Abraham Lincoln's birthplace, this hand-hewn log cabin dates back to the early 1800's. The log cabin was originally built in Northern Indiana by pioneer settlers from Pennsylvania. Over the years, the logs were covered up with clapboard siding and this preserved them for years. In 1970, another pastor bought the logs and rebuilt it in its present location in Northern Newaygo County. The log portion of the cabin has a great room with two sleeping rooms upstairs. In 1988, he added an addition which includes a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen/dining room. In 1994, we bought the cabin and have enjoyed many summers relaxing and enjoying the peace and solitude. The queen-sized bed is on the main floor bedroom and there are four beds upstairs - (one full size bed, one twin beds and two super-single beds). The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, silverware, pots and pans, an oven, stove, and microwave. FYI: This cabin is about one hour from Lake Michigan and Ludington State Park has a beautiful clean beach to spend a day. There is a great place to rent kayaks and canoes about 14 miles north of the cabin at Baldwin Canoe Rental. Guest access Guests have access to the entire cabin. Other things to note Sheets, towels, blankets and pillows are provided. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, flatware, pots and pans, microwave, an oven and stove.
