Bed and breakfast in Roxbury

Johnnycake Flats is a family owned B&B, an 1800's farmhouse and former stagecoach stop. Three inviting guest rooms, each with private baths and great views. All stays include yummy, homemade breakfasts, using organic/ local ingredients. XC skiing and snow shoeing can be accessed in our adjoining field with your own equipment. Sugarbush and Mad River Glen are a 1/2 hour drive via the Roxbury Gap (snow tires and winter driving skills a must) or a 55 min drive via I-89, exit 9. The space The Garden Room has both a queen and twin bed, private bath and can accommodate 2-3 persons. This room is a special treat, especially in the springtime, when the scent of apple blossoms drift in. You may also be lucky to hear a chorus of frogs during a summer evening. Views include gardens, pond and forest. A full breakfast is included with each stay. (Nightly rate is $155.00, for 2 persons, or $200.00 for 3 persons, plus 9% VT tax) Guest access Our common room welcomes guests with a cozy wood stove, board games and plenty of reading material. There are 16 acres to explore, photograph or paint, including a frog pond, vegetable and flower gardens, fields and forest. Toby, our friendly Border Collie is glad to show guests around or play an energetic game of Frisbee. Guests have access to a refrigerator, microwave, BBQ grill, tea/coffee, snacks, campfire ring, snowshoes, cooler, day packs, private entrance, secure storage for skis & bicycles and free parking. WiFi and TV are complimentary. Other things to note Our location is a perfect opportunity for star gazing, given there is virtually no light pollution. Come see the Milky Way, perhaps for the first time! Impromptu campfires are always a big hit. Johnnycake Flats is designated as a "Green Hotel" by the Agency of Natural resources. This means that we follow environmentally friendly business practices such as recycling, composting, towel/linen reuse, efficiency lighting and chemical use reduction where possible.
