Mid-century modern house designed by a NYC architect featuring extensive landscaping designed by E.Y. Bye, Frank Lloyd Wright’s frequent outdoors collaborator. A two-level glass, granite and wooden str ucture is surrounded by four landscaped acres and overlooks a two-acre spring-fed pond. The space The main floor spans 2,700 sq. ft. and includes 2 large bedrooms and a children's one. The first bedroom features a king bed with a Posturepedic mattress as well as an infant crib. The second one has a king size bed while the children’s bedroom can sleep two thanks to a Treehouse bunk bed. The living room and master bedroom are punctuated by cathedral ceilings and built-in custom made furniture. The two recently renovated bathrooms feature Kohler fixtures, Italian marble tiling, a bathtub and steam shower. The house is fully stocked with cookware, utensils, linens and towels. Please note that the door used to enter the house is the kitchen door which is located at the top of the staircase. No key is provided for the main solid wooden door. The house is perfect for two or three families since the downstairs has a beautiful separate large leaving room and another 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom for privacy . One of the rooms downstairs has a queen size bed and the other a twin size. There is only 1 kitchen and it’s upstairs. We have cable internet through spectrum and it’s strong because of the low population density in the area. Great if you need to work from home. The property is nestled on 63 acres of land, including old orchards, walking paths, cross-country ski trails and forested land. It is bordered by the Sandburg Creek and enjoys half a mile of frontage that provides an opportunity for canoeing and trout fishing. The heated 53 ft pool is long enough to allow for laps while being shallow on one end so that it can be enjoyed by small children. The pool is open during the summer months . We close it usually, based on the weather , mid or end of September. We open it end of May . Please request details regarding the pool if you are booking in the months of May and September. The property is adjacent to the municipal golf course which is open for play to visitors. Our property is ideal for kids, has several open spaces for playing soccer, volleyball or just running around. There are numerous old, beautiful trees around which to play hide and seek! Moreover, inside the house there are plenty of toys and books for all ages. Please handle them with care. Put everything back how you found them. There is a patio on one side that is shaded by trees and provides an additional area to relax at as well as a screened porch that is furnished. On the patio, guests have access to a propane grill that is steps away from the inside of the house and its dining room area. Guest access Guests can access both two floors. The heated pool ( only end of May to mid September ) , children's playground and gardens on the entire 63 acres can be accessed and enjoyed by our guests. You can park your car outside , not inside the garage. Please do not go outside from the doors downstairs. Keep them always shut. It’s important ,communicate this to the rest of your group. Other things to note Please leave the house in the same condition you found it. When you move furniture, pillows, toys etc please put them back where you found them. Do not throw ANYTHING in the toilets, / no toiler paper. We have a sensitive septic system. Receptacles are provided. Please use the bathroom trash cans . Turn all lights , AC/ heat off after your departure. Number of guest should not exceed 8. After lighting, the wooden stove should ALWAYS be used with its door closed. The house has 3 heating /AC zones, one in the master bedroom and one in the living room and another downstairs. It’s central air. Once the thermostat is set on heat/auto, the temperature can be set through the arrows. All the windows in the house are double, so it’s very warm in the winter and very cool in the summer. You can set it according to your preference. The key will let you enter through the kitchen door. No Parties No Pets No smoking. No SHOES INSIDE the house. IMPORTANT: DO NOT LEAVE ANY FOOD OR GARBAGE OUTSIDE OVERNIGHT. No parking cars inside the garage. Plenty of space for outside parking. Don't forget , we are next to a forest with all sorts of wildlife. We learned that is a bear in the area. Garbage are located at the beginning on the driveway on Sandra street. The yellow bins are for recycling and the green for the rest. They get picked up on Wendsday mornings. Pool will be open during the summer months . We open it end of May and closed it mid to end of September. Please ask if you are requesting to book in the months of May or September for details. Lastly, the stairs that lead to the pool can be slippery after rain. Please be careful coming down.
