Located directly on the ocean in beautiful Bayside, Nova Scotia with a slat water hot tub and an outdoor fire pit area. This cottage is spacious & bright, offering the perfect blend of Scandinavian inspired design & the rustic charm of Nova Scotia. Conveniently located a short 30 minute drive from downtown Halifax and 40 minutes from the Halifax Stanfield International Airport. The Vik is the perfect place to getaway and relax, explore, & make memories with your family & friends year round The space The Vík is perfect for an east coast family getaway—come enjoy panoramic ocean views from the patio and sit by the fire with the ocean at your side. Only minutes away from Granite Springs Golf Course and a quick 15 minute drive to explore Nova Scotia’s most iconic destination, Peggy’s Cove and nearby beaches. Arriving at the Vík: Upon arrival, you will be able to use the keyless entry which is integrated with the Airbnb app to unlock and lock the cottage with ease during your stay. You will enter our bright and airy sunroom where you will have a space to leave your footwear and hang your coat if you please. The Kitchen: This is an open concept space and has all of the amenities that you will need to cook a memorable meal for your loved ones. Here is where you will find options for your morning cup of coffee (Nespresso/French Press) or tea and enjoy the panoramic ocean views. The kitchen opens into the dining and living room area which boasts vaulted ceilings with wood beams. The Dining/Living Room: The highlight of this space is the view of the water and here is where you can access the back covered porch and large uncovered patio. The vaulted ceilings and loads of natural light create the perfect space to sit back, relax, and enjoy the view. The heat pump is located in the living room so you can keep cool in the summer and cozy in the winter. The Bedrooms: The primary bedroom on the main level has a king bed with crisp white linens and a selection of king-sized pillows for your choosing. This bedroom features a window with water views so you can wake up to the ocean each morning. The second bedroom on the main level is a child's dream and has a twin over double bunk bed with a twin pull out trundle. This room would be perfect for up to four kids (on all three levels) or two adults in the double bed (*see notes below). The vaulted ceilings in this space gives the kiddos on the top bunk plenty of room to move around. The lower level bedroom is large and has a king bed with crisp white linens and a selection of king-sized pillows for your choosing. This space has a little nook with a bench and a large closet. The Bathrooms: On the main level you will find a full bathroom with a large walk-in shower complete with a eucalyptus bundle for a refreshing shower. On the lower level of the cottage you will find another full bathroom that is centrally located. Both bathrooms are stocked with the essentials that you may need during your stay. The Family Room: On the lower level you will find a cozy and bright family room with a large sectional where you can enjoy quality time with family and friends. We have a selection of puzzles and board games along with a smart TV that you can log into your favourite streaming services. The Property: The Vík has 600 feet of direct water frontage for your enjoyment. The large patio boasts beautiful ocean views from every angle and is where you will find a BBQ, a large outdoor sectional, and sun loungers for your use in the summertime. Stepping down into the yard, you will find an oceanside fire pit area that would be perfect for evenings of story telling and marshmallow roasting in the summer. Next to the fire pit you will find a set of steps into the bay that would be an ideal spot to launch the kayaks or search for sea critters and treasures during low tide. Guest access Guests will have access to the full property to enjoy. We are not on the property and guests are given full privacy during their stay from check-in to check-out. Other things to note - The cottage is located off a main road and is currently not fenced in. If you are staying with small children, please be mindful to have them supervised at all times while on the property. - We have a wharf with deep anchorage and a mooring that you may contact us to discuss usage prior to your stay - usage for mooring is not guaranteed. - The bunk bed capacity is 400lbs on the bottom bunk and 200lbs on the top bunk - A washer and dryer is available on site for stays of 5 days or over. Please contact us if you are planning to use them so we can have it available. - We are on a well so being mindful of your water consumption is key. The water is tested regularly and can be consumed from the tap - For stays over 2 weeks we offer an optional cleaning during your stay at an additional fee of $150 per clean. - Additional fees may be applicable for any damages to property or items and also if the cottage is left in a condition that requires extensive cleaning above and beyond normal.
