So you can feel confident and at ease when staying at Eagle View. Please be aware that this house can ONLY ACCOMMODATE 10 PEOPLE at any one time. Please include children in your 10 person count. They generate the same amount of waste water as an adult. Our septic system is delicate. It may be tempting to invite more people along considering the size of this house, but more than 10 people would lead to a malfunction of the system. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRIP INSURANCE. We do not give refunds for extreme weather or personal issues. Trip insurance would cover inclement weather like a big snow storm, fire scenarios, or even a personal issue. During booking, you are given the option to add travel insurance. During the winter months, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. If you intend to use the outdoor grill, there is a $15 charge for propane. We no longer provide free propane due to the fact that too many guests abused the amenity. If you have an electric car that needs charging at the cabin, you may use an extension cord to plug into an outdoor outlet. Please be sure to bring a 40 foot extension cord so there is no problem with reach. There is a charge of $15 a day for electricity for each electric car. We will give you a code to gain access to the outlet. There are also fast charging EV charging stations in Black Oak Casino and Adventist Health Hospital in Sonora. The hospital is along the way if you are coming from the bay area or an easy stop on the way back. For those with limited mobility, please be aware the house has three stories. There are 8 steps to climb to get to the main floor from the top of the driveway. There are two bedrooms on the main floor. Please note there is an extra cleaning charge for bringing glitter into Eagle View Retreat. If you bring more than 10 people (children included), there will be extra charges per person due to wear and tear and cleaning. If the extra people causes damage to the septic system (which is why we have a 10 person maximum), you will be responsible for the cost of repairing the system and house. Guest access Directions: When you see the yellow ‘NO OUTLET' sign along Pack Trail Road, you are very close to the cabin driveway. Most of the mapping apps out there tell you that you’ve arrived prematurely. There is a yellow sign directing you to the next driveway that has a green sign with our address. The driveway is a bit steep, so please be careful driving up. If you are driving a vehicle that is low to the ground, please park your car at the first driveway with the yellow sign. Otherwise, the car will bottom out when trying to make the transition from the road to the real driveway. In the winter months when there is snow and ice on the roads, we highly recommend an all wheel or four wheel drive vehicle. Do be careful driving up our driveway with a sedan. We would recommend approaching the lip of the driveway on the left where the street trough is not as deep. The trough is for water drainage and mandated by the county. When arriving at the house, we would recommend parking the car at the top of the driveway to unload your luggage. If you plan to park the car at the top, please turn your wheel to the left, so if there is a mishap with your breaks, the hill will stop your car. If you don’t feel comfortable parking at an angle, we recommend parking on the gravel driveway at the level of the garage. Please enter the house on the 2nd level. Walk around the house until you end up at the front door. A couple of days before your arrival we will give you a door code. Please wait a second …… to give the lock time to unlock. Locking the door is as easy as shutting the door and pressing the lock button at the bottom right. In addition to the door lock, there is a security bar at the bottom of the sliding door track. Please pick it up and mount it to the bracket at the side of the sliding door before trying to slide open the door. This is true of the sliding door on the third floor king room as well. For those with limited mobility, please be aware the house is three stories. There are 8 steps to climb to get to the main floor from the top of the driveway. Other things to note House Rules: 1. Maximum of 10 people at the house at one time. 2. Absolutely no smoking in the house. We discourage smoking of any kind due to the possibility of fires, especially in fire season. But if you must, there is a grey ashtrays on the deck outside the front door. Please look for it. 3. No open fires in or around the property. 4. Please no shoes or pets in the house. 5. Quiet hours are 10pm – 8am. Please be respectful of our neighbors. We have some neighbors that are highly sensitive to sound. Please bring the fun indoors at 10pm. During the winter months, we HIGHLY recommend four wheel drive. And We HIGHLY recommend trip insurance. Trip insurance would cover inclement weather like a big snow storm or even fire evacuation scenarios. During booking, you are given the option to add travel insurance. Fires, Brownout, Snowstorms As most of you are probably aware, fires are a big problem in the California Sierras. In order to protect our communities from possible fires, PG&E occasionally turns off the power and even evacuates the area when a fire is close by. We have no control over these situations. If the authorities call for an evacuation, we will notify you via text as soon as we find out. You must evacuate the house immediately, please don't linger. There is only one main road going up to this area. You will want to evacuate as quickly as possible down this road. If PG&E turns off the power or the power goes out, please be aware that we do not have a generator at the house. There are flashlight if you need them in the utility drawer in the kitchen. If there is a big snowstorm, there is a strong possibility that the roads will be closed for a few days and there might be a blackout if power lines are disrupted. This means that you will not be able to come to the house. And If you are already at the house, you may be snowed in and/or without electricity for a few days. So, please be prepared for the possibility of being house-bound for a few days.
