Two high-speed wifi networks, one from Comcast, one from AT&T. Easy off-street parking right in front of the building. Kitchen is equipped for real cooking, and Whole Foods is a short walk. Trader Joe's, Starbucks, and many restaurants are just a little further. The space Distance from the property to the beach: 2.2 miles -- (3.5 km) -- (56 minute walk). Most people will find this too far to walk, especially when carrying beach gear. The house manual includes detailed beach parking instructions. Babies: every unit has a crib, and a highchair is available on request. Guest access SUPERMARKETS Whole Foods (large upscale grocery store) - 0.4 miles Trader Joe’s - (eclectic grocery store with European bread) - 0.4 miles Publix Supermarket -0.2 miles Other things to note -Asthma, allergies, respiratory problems or hyper-sensitive to smells? This is an old apartment. It was built with lots of wood, it is surrounded by flowers and bushes, and it has had many experiences. If you have these conditions, it probably won’t be the right choice for you. -This is an old house and the unit is on the ground floor. Bugs are a constant battle in Florida. You may encounter some during your stay. We exterminate using traps, bait, sprays, and fumigation. There is bug spray on the top shelf in the kitchen cabinet furthest from the sink. If you need us to come and exterminate, we can send someone Monday through Saturday (Sundays are more difficult). -We clean ovens about every 90 days. For most guests heating the oven to 325F (160C) is enough to sterilize it after the previous guest. -All of our TVs (in all units) are 4K Smart TVs (mostly Samsung). They have apps preinstalled for Netflix, HBO, etc, and you can sign on to your own streaming accounts. We do not, however, have cable. Local channels are very limited. -There is parking for two cars. -This apartment is close to many major bus lines going directly to the beach, the malls, and downtown. Nevertheless, I recommend renting a car or using Uber or Lyft when visiting Fort Lauderdale. -Beach gear: We provide beach chairs, beach towels, and a small cooler. You can rent umbrellas at some beaches. We do not provide snorkeling gear. -We provide a Keurig coffee maker and four coffee pods to get you started on the first morning. -We no longer provide a drip (filter) coffee maker.
