Emergencies 24/7 Call or text Me (my number will be available after booking). I will see texts before messages. If important, please text. Weather Events: Guests, this is the High Sierra's, and although it is beautiful, remember it is the mountains and sudden snow, rain or thunder storms happen, and sometimes it is not predicted. Please check the cabin weather display on the kitchen window sill. It has an outdoor sensor, and it is very accurate. Pets: I only allow two well behaved dogs. No other types of pets are allowed. Substances: This cabin does not allow cannabis in any form or possession of it on the property. Thank you for understanding. Cancellation Requests: Please see the policy listed on Airbnb. I do allow a change of dates. How I handle Broken Items: Just before check-in the cleaner takes inventory of all items working correctly and photos. However, If something breaks or is not working property, please let me know right away. I will have a professional take a look at it either during your stay if it is something that needs to be handled right away or after your stay. Sometimes if teens or children are left alone upstairs they can break items. I've had a few times guests inform me something was broken that I know was not broken prior. I've had broken toilet handles, broken billiard lights, cords cut in half by pets chewing on them, blown out circuit breakers because a metal item was put in the microwave.....I will seek compensation if it was not broken prior to your arrival. Please, watch your children and treat our cabin as if it were your home. We keep our cabin modern with nice items for you to enjoy. Even down to soft closing toilet seats. We have pride of ownership. Please take care of the cabin during your stay as if it were your own home. Furniture/Items: Please do not rearrange furniture, and please put back items where you found them. Please do not allow children to jump on beds. I assure you, we do a through check of all items before a new guest arrives to make sure nothing is broken. Stairs: This cabin has privacy, peace, and nature all around with High Sierra Mountain and Sierra Pine Tree views from EVERY room! It's like staying in a tree house! However, unless you're a bird or have spiderman like powers, you must walk up steps and stairs to experience the forest and skyline views! We have railings to assist you up to this unique cabin. It's easier than hiking up a short hill, and when you get to the top, you can partake in the beautiful High Sierra views. If you have mobility issues, this may not be the cabin for you. We provide a "garbage free" cabin due to bears and other wildlife who are attracted to the smell of garbage. All guests, including my family are required to pack out your garbage to dispose of yourself. I can provide contact information for your garbage to be hauled away for an extra fee if you are interested. I will need advance notice at booking for this option. Another option is to dispose of your garbage at Pinecrest Transfer Station. It is located six minutes from the cabin. Please check for days and times the transfer station is open. . Special Requests: If you have a special occasion, I would be happy to help you arrange any special items for the cabin, such as a cake, balloons, baskets or flowers to mark a birthday, anniversary or any special occasion. We can work with any budget. Extra Guests: All extra guests must be listed on the Airbnb amount of guests section. There is a small fee beyond six guests to compensate for the extra supplies and cleaning. I will always try to work with extra guest requests if they are reasonable. Although I do not keep an air mattress at the cabin, you are welcome to bring yours, and the cleaner can set out linens, blankets, and pillows for you if I know prior to booking. Allergy: We allow pets, and I have a pet named Pilot, and he comes up to the cabin with our family when I need to be up here. I also have peanuts in the cabin. If you have allergies, I wanted you to be aware of that. The upstairs bathroom heater is old school and a Fire Hazard. I request it not be used. It is taped shut. Many guests have left it on and draped a towel over it, burning the towel. It's also extremely hot to touch. Please instruct your children to not touch the heater or try to turn it on. Thank you for your understanding. Part of the cabin experience is heating the house with a cozy fire. If you use the heater, do not leave it on full blast. Please only turn it to number "2" on the dial when it is needed. otherwise, please keep it off. The downstairs bedroom heater heats up the room nicely, but please open the curtains or tie them up in a knot if used to avoid heat contact with curtains to heater. Again, the curtain can burn, and it can cause a fire. Please drap them away from the floor board heater when it is one. Check-in/Check-out We do allow free early check in if planned ahead and available. We allow late check out, up to 3:30 for a fee of $80, but only if it is available. It needs to be pre-planned. Power Outages: We are in the mountains, and sometimes, during a winter storm or summer overuse, there may be an unplanned or planned outage. 1. Please inform me if there is an outage. Please do not try to troubleshoot it. I'm set up to be alerted of all power outages. 2. We have lighting if there is an outage. There are battery-operated lights in the laundry room, the stair entrance, the upstairs game-room and the bathroom. To activate, flip the switch on, and it should work. If it is on during a power outage, it will stay on, but please shut off if you don't need it to preserve the battery. 3. You can move all perishables to the freezer, or during the winter if you brought an ice chest, you can fill it with snow to keep your food cold. Please remember to make sure the ice chest is plugged so water doesn't ruin the flooring when it melts. We hope you enjoy your stay at Sugar Bear Cabin.
