Back at the home, the pool is ready to use, the game room's waiting, and someone's already asking who wants s'mores at the fire pit. This is Sunset Place — private pool, private dock, and Clear Lake right outside your door. Every trip here becomes the one everyone keeps talking about. The open floorplan sleeps 10 across 3 bedrooms plus a living room that converts to one sofa bed and one air mattress and 2 full baths, GAME ROOM Garage game room has a ping pong table, arcade games (Street Fighter, golf/bowling), a 50-inch smart TV, a Wii console, a DVD collection, two sofas, and a bar table. Portable fans help in summer as there's no AC or heat in the game room. LIVING ROOM Features a 65-inch smart TV with a BOSE sound system, two couches (one a sleeper sofa), a bar area, and a sliding door onto the covered patio and private dock. The dining table seats six with lake views. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS The master suite has a king bed, private updated bathroom, smart TV, desk, and its own sliding patio door to the pool. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed. Bedroom 3 has a queen bed behind a sliding barn door for privacy. The living room has a sofa bed and a queen air mattress. All three bedrooms and living room have black out curtains. KITCHEN Large island with seating, a traditional coffee maker plus Keurig, a waffle maker, blender, rice cooker, and pots and pans (the walk-in pantry is the owner's supply closet, not for guest use). A washer and two dryers live in the garage with starter detergent provided. OUTSIDE Fenced sports pool is roughly 5 feet deep and open seasonally, typically late May through September (unheated — confirm exact dates with your host). The private covered dock has night lighting, electrical hookups for boat batteries, and room to tie up multiple boats. Two pedal boats and a kayak are included, with spare life jackets on hand (bring your own for a proper fit). A propane fire pit and BBQ anchor the fenced patio, and fishing right off the dock is encouraged. Ask host for any fishing tips needed. Traveling with a dog? There's a side yard dog run (no grass on the property, so plan accordingly). WHO THIS HOME IS BEST FOR Fishing groups and tournament crews: one of the most dialed-in bass fishing bases on the lake — dock access, boat tie-ups, and a ramp minutes away. Families of all ages will have plenty of room: 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and sleeping configurations (king, two queens, sofa bed, air mattress) for 10. Groups of friends looking for a lake weekend will love the garage game room and the private pool. Remote workers extending a stay will appreciate the dedicated workspace and Wi-Fi — work mornings, hit the water by afternoon. Pet owners have a side yard dog run for a mid-trip break (note: no grass, so plan accordingly) GUEST ACCESS Guests have full access to the entire home, with one exception: the kitchen pantry is the owner's personal supply closet. You'll also have full use of the private boat slip for direct lake access. The garage is converted into the game room, so there's no garage parking and the doors stay closed for the stay. The sports pool is seasonal (typically late May through September); check with your host to confirm exact dates. PARKING Free parking is available in the driveway and street — no permits needed. The garage itself is not usable for parking since it's the game room and its doors stay closed throughout your stay. LOCATION & WHAT'S NEARBY Sunset Place sits directly on Clear Lake in Clearlake Oaks — California's largest natural freshwater lake and, per Bassmaster's 2025 rankings, the #1 bass fishing lake in the country. A public boat ramp is minutes away for guests bringing their own watercraft, and Brassfield Winery is a quick 7-minute drive. Hiking trails are nearby too. Clearlake Oaks sits within California's Lake County wine region, home to a growing number of boutique, family-run wineries scattered around the lake — a nice add-on for a slower afternoon between boat trips. The home is located in Clearlake Oaks which provides easy access to both sides of the lake. This is bass-fishing country first: guests interested in a guided trip can contact the host for a fishing guide reference — the guide can often pick guests up right from the dock, and sunset or day cruises are available too. HOUSE RULES No third party bookings. Guest who books home must be attending and staying at the home. Check-in is after 3:00 PM and checkout is before 11:00 AM, with a 10-guest maximum. After booking, guests must complete a short-term rental agreement and submit proof of ID. Stacy personally manages every booking and provides a unique smart-lock access code, so there's no in-person key handoff — just text anytime with questions. Good to know: an exterior security camera covers the front driveway (facing the street only, recording audio and video on motion — no other cameras on the property). Being on the water means occasional local wildlife, including a harmless light-attracted insect called the rice fly — minimizing lights when opening doors at night helps as they are attracted to the light. In summer, the lake can occasionally develop an algae bloom and mild algae odor and is dependent on wind and temperature which is typical for Clear Lake. Guest access Guests have access to the entire home (except pantry located in kitchen which is not accessible as it is owner supply closet). Guest have use of private boat slip which provides direct access to lake. No garage parking as garage is converted to game room. Garage doors are not in use and must stay closed at all times. Guests will have access to sports pool seasonally (usually open beginning May through September) Please check with host to confirm availability and more information. Other things to note Sports pool is seasonal use. Sports pool is approximately 5 ft deep. Pool is NOT heated. Pool closed in winter months and available for use beginning at the end of April/ beginning of May for summer use. Please confirm with host for dates pool is accessible. Game room located in garage does not have AC or heat. Portable fans are provided for the summer months. No heaters are allowed for safety reasons. Short term rental agreement required to be completed by guest after booking and guest required to submit proof of ID to host in order to complete reservation process. If guest does not complete agreement or furnish copy of valid ID guest will need to cancel reservation on their end if they cannot meet these requirements. No penalty to host if reservation is cancelled for this reason. I personally manage all bookings and am available to answer any questions or concerns you may have about the property.
