Our pleasant, peaceful and homey private walkout has 2 bedrooms with one Jack & Jill bathroom, sitting room, full kitchen, W/D, outdoor side courtyard, garden area with fire pit, under deck furnished covered patio with BBQ & dining. Private parking space. Serene, well laid out simple spaces bring classic, casual comfort and calm to your stay. We’ve done a refresh! There is freshly painted walls and trim, new appliances, washable chair and sofa covers, bedding and decor, leather butterfly chairs, area rugs and towels adding a happy splash of yellow ‘sunshine’ and turquoise accents. SMOKE-FREE guests only. No incense, smudging, candles, e-cigarettes, vaping or 420. ONLY registered guests stay at TuscInn. * BEDROOMS - There are 2 bedrooms; Firenze and Fiesole. There is one (1) bed in each room with a Jack and Jill bathroom between. TuscInn comfortably sleeps 4 with one 3-piece bathroom. There is a mattress cover and sheets/blankets/pillows to make up the twin in the nook that are in the drawers below if you need separate sleeping arrangements. * TuscInn is on the bottom floor of the main house with 2 private walk-outs and windows on 2 sides. Windows have screens and allow opening for the evening cooler air. * SOUNDS -Our upstairs floor is tile. You can hear furniture, and footsteps. We have lively family dinners and cards and try to keep it down, but we can get excited, too. The Freeway is near, but once inside it can barely be heard. It is a handy on/off access to the area. * ENTRANCE - Parking and the front door of TuscInn is down the driveway hill and to the right of the main house just past Juliart. When you enter the gate of the covered patio, the yellow mosaic glass front door is on the right and a furnished patio for outdoor living near the door. * Garden area beyond the front patio adds extra outdoor space and features. * FIRE PIT - There is a fire pit in the garden area with seating around it on concrete benches. VERY IMPORTANT: Please follow safely rules (found in the guest manual) on building a fire in the pit and how to leave it when you are done. * COURTYARD - There is a private courtyard just outside the Firenze bedroom slider. * HEATING/COOLING - There are 2 space heaters for warmth in winter. In summer there are fans. The flat is 10 degrees cooler than upstairs as it has block walls. * KITCHEN - The fully equipped kitchen has updated large appliances and is equipped for cooking your own meals. You will need to bring your own groceries. There is lots of room in the pantry for storage of your own food stuffs. Also located in the pantry is a picnic basket for your use. * GARDEN - Expect to see me or my husband, Andy, quietly caring for the grounds of Juland. We love to chat if you are so inclined. You will have access to: * Private Paved Parking in front of TuscInn for 1 car. A second car may park on the boulevard. * The entire private 2BR Guest House with it's own private entrance plus a private Sliding glass door to the courtyard. * Covered outdoor furnished Entrance Patio w/ BBQ plus a fire pit in the landscaped yard beyond. * Sitting Room with entry closet, TV for viewing your own movies uploaded from your computer and double sleeper sofa plus a fan. * Dining room w/ table and chairs * Desk/Work space in the master bedroom. * Reading Nook with chaise twin sleeper and a curtain that draws around. * Fully equipped Kitchen with stove, hood, oven, full refrigerator, microwave, sink with garbage disposal, pantry, countertops and cupboards stocked with basics like oil, sugar, salt and pepper, Bisquick, herbs and spices... There are small appliances: toaster, blender, crock pot, coffee maker, waffle maker, coffee grinder. There is bakeware, dinner ware, mixing bowls, pots and pans, utensils and place settings. * Firenze Bedroom has a King Bed, full closet, carpeted floor, a chaise lounge, bedside tables and overhead fan/light. Access the furnished outdoor tiled courtyard through the glass slider of Firenze. * Fiesole Bedroom has a double bed, dresser, a table fan, 2 curtained Windows that open, a tiled floor and a full closet. * The Jack and Jill Bathroom between the 2 bedrooms has a toilet, sink, corner shower and custom tile-work, plus storage for your toiletries. * Off limits are the outside storage sheds. * Each guest house has its own private outdoor space(s) and is off limits to the other guest house outdoor spaces. We love to meet our guests. We are available to answer questions and give suggestions, but are not hovering hosts. We are happy to greet you and show you around or you can have a self check in. This is your home away from home with thoughtful amenities to make your stay comfy. WHAT IS THE WELCOME LIKE? There is a Welcome Board outside the Guest House. We love to have little surprises on the inside to get the oohhs and aaahhhs! You will park your car down the driveway, then turn right past the main house so that you are parked parallel to the gazebo at the back of the house. The sign says TuscInn over the gate. HOW MANY DOES TUSCINN GUEST HOUSE SLEEP? Firenze Bedroom sleeps 2 comfortably on a king bed. Fiesole Bedroom comfortably sleeps 2 on a double Bed. WHO IS TUSCINN GUEST HOUSE FOR? It is ideal for a family, an extended family, a couple or singles, or a friends and family meet up. WHAT IS A SELF-SERVE BREAKFAST? Our guests recognize the value of thoughtful amenities that allow you to cook and bake your own self-serve meals as the Flat has everything you need to cook and serve meals. There are spices, salt and pepper, oil, Bisquick (pancake/waffle mix), sugar and coffee beans. HOW CLOSE IS THE FREEWAY? The freeway is nearby. Once you close the door and windows it can barely be heard as TuscInn is well insulated. To us the freeway is a constant calming sound. It provides easy on and off to the various attractions of the area. Outdoors the freeway can be readily heard. WHAT IS THE GARDEN LIKE? It is calming, peaceful, pleasant, and appealing to the senses. The outdoor patio looks over the garden/firepit area. There is a peek-a-boo view of Mt Shasta through the trees. WHAT ARE WINTERS LIKE? Winter months are November through February. Nights are colder than days. Usually the sun comes out and it warms a bit even in winter. There are only a couple of times a year that we have severe winter storms. We rarely have to put on chains, but we always carry chains as we live in the mountains. You should carry chains when you come to visit in the winter. The freeway is frequently plowed in case of snow and rarely gets completely closed down. Our road is a main street and regularly gets plowed during a snow. If snow is building up it is wise to park at the mouth of our driveway unless you have snow tires. We have a snow blower. WHAT CAN I EXPECT? Expect to arrive and come and go at will. We have a lock box that allows late arrival. Expect to be cared for but not hovered over. Expect friendly folk. Expect cool nights and warmer days. There are fans in every room. Expect changeable weather in the winter and options for winter sports. Expect our cat “Six” to visit you in the yard. He cannot be let in. We have a new puppy “Toffee” who stays in our yard space and is fenced from yours. Expect us to quietly care for the gardens; hoeing weeds, tending the yard, tilling the soil or watering. We may not hear or see you, but If you can engage us in conversation, we love it. Juland is our little Tuscan Villa with the buildings nestled among gardens on a hill. Juland includes the main house which we call Casa d’Juland; Juliart Studio; TuscInn, a 2 BR guest house; Garden Gate Cottage, a Studio Apartment Guest House; Alpenglow Guest Apartment and the chicken coop. 1) The main house and Alpenglow Apartment are on street level and is the upper floor. 2) The lower level is down the driveway and under the main house. TuscInn, our workshop and Juliart are located there. Juliart is a place to create works of art ( painting, sculpture, fused glass, mosaic, stained glass...) located downstairs in the renovated garage. 3) TuscInn is a renovated 950 sf downstairs 2 BR, 1 B guest house with a covered patio overlooking the middle garden. It has glimpses of Mt Shasta through the trees. There is an intimate side courtyard outside of Firenze, the king bedroom. 4) Garden Gate Cottage is at the bottom of the hill in the back yard down a flight of stairs. It is a separate building. It is a studio guest cottage located in the lower garden. When staying at TuscInn the cottage and it's outdoor spaces are off limits. 5) Potential for noise: Alpenglow Apartment is in the front room of the Main House upstairs with a full private bath across the common front hall. It has wood and tile floors and is just above the Firenze bedroom. The City of Weed is located in south Siskiyou County. It is a mountain college community at the 'heart' of Mt. Shasta. It is best to have a car to get around to stellar sights and activities within a 30 mile radius. PRIVATE PARKING: There is a circular drive for the main house and a parking lot down the driveway for TuscInn, Garden Gate Cottage and Alpenglow Apartment. THE PROPERTY: We have forested trees all around our property which is fenced on a lot in our small mountain community. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. SHORT HIKES: 2 mile circle (along South Weed Blvd), the Bear Trail or the Meadow Trail, they are gentle walks within a half mile. CITY: Within a 1/2 mile there is the Dollar General, In a mile there is Grocery Outlet, Rays Grocery, restaurants, bowling, walks, the College of the Siskiyous, small town shops and banking. ACTIVITIES: Juland, home of TuscInn, is 5 minutes from the Weed Golf Course, 10 minutes from the City of Mt. Shasta, 10 minutes from Stewart Hot Springs, 25 minutes from the ski resort as well as many day trips to great places of interest. *There is a 10% city occupancy tax and a 2% Siskiyou County Tourism Improvement District(SCTID) assessment for stays under 30 days. We take this out of the cleaning fee so there is no extra fee when you arrive. *There is no air-conditioning, but there are fans. At night you can open the windows with screens for cooler night air. During the day keep the windows closed to keep the cooler air in. Under the TV is a heater Fireplace which is also for ambience. If left on too long the fireplace heater will go off to cool down. There is a Guest Manuel which gives important information, places to shop, eat and visit, plus random quotes, information and how to’s, how to check out and the wi-fi code and password.
