Sweet Vintage Camper in a Fun Farm Setting
Welcome to SydneyLand Farm! Glamp in a sweet little camper on a hobby farm!. We are in horse and cattle country but very close to Chattanooga. It's a bit of both worlds! Our vintage Avion camper sits behind our larger guesthouse with a view of the woods and pond and it’s own little world. Our friendly donkeys and goats are next door in the barnyard and welcome supervised pats and cuddles. Watch the fireflies, listen to the cicadas and frogs, and unwind. The space The Just Right is an Avion Travel Trailer equipped with modern conveniences and the comforts of home. It is 32' long and has a working kitchen, a bath with shower and bathtub (!), and air conditioning. For cooler spring and fall nights, it has central heat. The back bedroom has twin beds or a queen (you tell us) and the sofa in the living room is also a twin bed. If you are bringing a child, the dining table and banquettes convert to a small bed, too. There is plenty of storage and the kitchen is stocked with everyday needs and small appliances. We leave coffee and tea and eggs for guests. Did we mention our wonderful chickens? They are a delightful afternoon meditation (block block). Park your car in a gravel space a few yards from the camper. Do your morning yoga practice on the deck. Sit out under the awning and enjoy an afternoon beverage by the grill. After dark, light a fire and chill out. Our barnyard is home to 5 donkeys, 7 goats and right now, 25 very free range chickens. We rotate the donkeys and goats through the property during the day so there are plenty of opportunities to say hi. WiFi is available in the camper! Also, if you need to charge an electric vehicle, we have a level 2 charger on site for $10 a day. There is a shared laundry room in the Bunkhouse if you need it. Just ask. And finally, we now allow PETS! Please limit to 2 dogs but cats are ok, too. Pet fee will apply- $20 per stay- total!--(we love friendly pets). Since this is a new rule, we may have to add the pet fee on our end. Let us know if you are bringing your buddy. Guest access Our property is 31 acres with lots of room to explore without going anywhere. We're kind of a destination place, so much more than just a place to crash. There are trails through our woods, big pastures to walk through, ponds to sit by, and a breeze to enjoy. If you need to work, wifi is available. But really, just bring a hammock and set it up between the two big trees right next to the camper. Be on vacation. Looking to hike? Lookout Mountain, Cloudland Canyon, Downtown Chattanooga--everything is an easy drive from here. Rock Town, the Pocket Loop, and The Cove are south of us about 20 miles. We know lots of hiking trails we can recommend, bike rides to take, cliffs to climb. Chattanooga hosts RiverBend, an Ironman competition, several bike races --and it is just a 20 minute drive into town. Other things to note The bathroom in the camper is complete but small. Large and tall people should be prepared for this. The hot water tank is 6 gallons so showers will likely be quick. Fortunately, it doesn’t take long to be ready with hot water for the next person. It is an electric water heater but you can rush the reheating by also using the propane. The Just Right sits behind our main guesthouse but has its own spaces. You will share a parking area and are likely to meet other guests. Bring good walking shoes. It is a pleasure to walk the tree line around our 31 acres and venture into the woods as well. We have cut trails through about 4.15 acres of thick woods filled with amazing cedars. There is a canoe you are welcome to paddle around the pond in when it is high. There is also an outdoor shower by the pasture shed guests can use. The roosters start early. The donkeys will bray when it starts getting light if we don’t get out there with breakfast soon enough. It’s a farm. They are a big part of what makes it wonderful. FYI—we do have pet chickens that live in our yard peacefully with our dogs. Most dogs ignore them but some dogs can’t help but chase and capture. We always ask guests to keep their dog leashed until we can determine how they react to the birds. If their prey drive is too active, there are several safe places for them to run off leash where there are no chickens. If you are traveling with young children, please be aware that the camper is not childproofed like you might have done at your home. Our other rentals are: Chickamauga Farm Stay and Cowboy Guesthouse. Check out those listings for reviews and other possibilities. If you book both the guesthouse and The Just Right, you can share our farm with 12 people.
