The Eldridge Room at The Millstone
This spacious 19th Century home, located on the banks of the Susquehanna River, is only minutes away from Binghamton University. Also close to SUNY Broome and Davis College. Country atmosphere in the heart of the metropolitan Tri-cities area. Important note - Please let us know your approximate arrival time when you book or request a room so that we can have everything in order for you arrival, thank you. We call this room the Eldridge, named after the first owner of the property. We went with a contemporary look for the attached private bath and clean country lines in the bedroom. Very comfortable queen size bed provided with luxurious bed linens and down pillows. Down free pillows and comforters are available on request. There is a small refrigerator for your use in this room. Guests have access to their own private balcony. This room is located on the second floor and stairs are required to access the space. News flash- NY State regulations require us "not" to advertise food offerings lest we be held to conform with NY State Bed and Breakfast regulations. We use a Keurig coffee machine with a good selection of different roasts and coffee varieties at your disposal. We have an acre of land and are currently restoring the butterfly and bird friendly garden; please feel free to stroll and explore. We are very social but have busy schedules with work and our current projects around the house. Always open to a glass of wine with savories if we are free. There is a great hiking and bike trail very close to our home that is very popular with the locals. Lots of shopping and some good places to eat nearby that are reasonably priced. The Susquehanna River is directly behind our home and it is always a pleasure to take a stroll along the riverbank. Also some great outdoor parks for the more serious hikers who want to be in more natural settings. Jones Park and IBM Glen are two that we are fond of using. There is some public transportation but as with all small urban areas in Upstate NY, using an automobile is your best means of transport. We have plenty of off street parking on the property. We have a very friendly dog here in the house; her name is Mila and she loves lots of attention. That being said, we are of course open to other pet guests. Mila is great with other dogs and loves to play. We will be glad to recommend any of the myriad of dog friendly parks located in the Binghamton area. Our home is located in a very busy travel corridor and there is some ambient noise typical of a small metropolitan area; an occasional ambulance, fire siren and some traffic may pass by. It looks like a country home, but we are in an urban area. NO SMOKING in the rooms, but please feel free to use the balcony access or the large wrap around porch and deck attached to the house, or simply meander down to the river.
