Drake Cottage, Great Gutton Farm

In traditional farmhouse style, Drake Cottage is in the west wing of our historic 16th century farmhouse. A spacious twin & double bedroom upstairs share a bathroom. Downstairs can be either twin/double with ensuite shower room. A large well equipped rustic style kitchen & sitting room with log burner create a perfect space for relaxing. Drake is well set up for those with impaired mobility having ramp access to the cottage & an accessible downstairs shower/WC. Drake can take pets The space The living room, with ramped wheelchair access, is large and comfortable with a pine-stripped floor, wood burner, Welsh dresser, huge sofas and footstool. There is also a TV and DVD player. Leading off from this room, is a downstairs twin bedroom with a specially adapted en-suite shower room suitable for persons with impaired mobility. We have recently replaced the twin beds with interlocking beds, so a kingsize bed may be made up if preferred. Double doors open out onto the paved enclosed patio. Upstairs, there are two large bedrooms – one twin and one double with a four poster bed. There is also a bathroom with shower over bath and WC. On the ground floor a ramp leads to the enclosed paved patio area, where garden furniture and barbecue make this the perfect place to enjoy evening meals watching the setting sun. Drake has inter-communicating doors with Rook Cottage next door. Double bookings are available for larger parties. Guest access Here at Great Gutton, we have 5 self catering cottages adjoining/surrounding the main thatched farm house. Each Cottage has its own private space but there is also plenty of garden and fields for you all to explore. We are very relaxed about folk being here and guests can choose to keep themselves to themselves, or to chit chat and make friends with fellow guests - it really is up to you!! Great Gutton is a charming Grade II* listed Devonshire Thatched Farmhouse set in 21 acres of rolling countryside, offering dog friendly (in certain properties), self catering cottages in the heart of rural Devon. With the Games room and indoor heated swimming pool open all year, there really is something for everyone – whatever the weather! Superb for large gatherings of up to 24, where folk can all have their own space but all come together, should they wish. We have secure buildings for any bikes/surfboards/fishing rods and any other paraphernalia folk wish to bring. A bank supply of cots, hi chairs and stair gates are available on request. A little bit about Mid Devon and where we are: We are 40 minutes from both the North and South coast. The busy market town of Crediton is nearby and Exeter is only 20 minutes away with its historic quayside, Cathedral and superb shopping facilities. Dartmoor and Exmoor as well as North and South Coast beaches are accessible from here. A car would be handy when staying here but there is a train station and mainline buses running from Crediton, plus local taxi firms. Other things to note Guests to Drake also have access to the large indoor heated swimming pool.
