Our previous dock was destroyed in the 2018 hurricane, but we obtained a permit for an even more spacious treated hardwood dock reinforced with all stainless steel ties and fasteners. Great for tying up your boat, launching a kayak or paddleboard, fishing or setting out crab pots! We include a kayak and paddleboard for our guests’ exclusive use. We are readily available by cellphone contact. We have great neighbors who will be also available in an emergency. Directly on the water overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway and Figure Eight Sound. No drawbridge, either, since we are on Middle Sound Loop in Wilmington NC. The house is east-facing over the water, so we get superb and colorful sunrises every day. Great flounder, drum, and other fin-fish can be caught right off our newly-rebuilt dock. (Hurricane Florence “gave us the opportunity” to rebuild a great new dock). We have crab pots available for your use. Savory blue crab and occasionally even stone crab seem to enjoy getting caught in our crab pots! If boating is your passion, feel free to bring your own, or (conveniently) our friends at Entropy Boat Rentals will be happy to provide one of their powerboats at great rates. Very quick boat ride to the Wrightsville Beaches, or to the much more secluded Lea-Hutaff island just north of Figure Eight, which is uninhabited and is an Audobon Society bird sanctuary. At low tide, there's even a sandbar that's directly across from our dock, so you can swim or paddleboard in less than a minute. We provide a stand-up paddleboard and a kayak, and Entropy Boat Rentals next door has canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, and Sunfish sailboat rental as well as sturdy Sea Mark powerboats. Mayfaire Landing, Landfall, and Porter's Neck Shopping Centers are all an easy drive, each about 5 miles from our door. The new Publix shopping center is actually on Middle Sound Loop, so it’s even more convenient for groceries and sundries. There are plenty of restaurants and fun shops at each of those centers. Very quick boating access (or about 15 min by automobile) to Wrightsville Beach and Figure Eight Island beaches.
