Description

The Treehouse Retreat is in Philomath, OR - less than 5 miles west of Oregon State University. You can explore McDonald Forest, Bald Hill, and Mary's Peak nearby. Staying in a treehouse is the most unique experience! Book yourself an evening and disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with nature. Be prepared for fancy camping and a composting outhouse. The Treehouse Retreat is good for couples, solo adventurers, and small families. May not be suitable for small children due to ladders. The space This is basically a unique camping experience in a 100 square foot treehouse. There is power with electric lighting, a portable fan and ceiling fan with remote control, and a space heater if necessary, a composting outhouse (please remember to use the wood shavings), a shower house with heated outdoor shower, a spring-fed Koi pond with waterwheel and waterfall, trampoline, play field for disc golf, climbing crows nest, rope swings, chicken coop, and zipline for fun. Clean drinking water is available from the outdoor sink by the shower house if you need to refill a water bottle, wash your hands, brush your teeth, wash dishes, etc. Bring a cooler and easy foods to enjoy, and a flashlight or headlamp for good visibility at night to find the outhouse. There is a sleeping loft with an amazing memory-foam mattress perfect for two (we provide linens), and also 2 bunks below with sleeping pads and extra blankets for any additional guests who want to bring sleeping bags, although the top bunk bed is kid-size due to limited headroom. There is a covered fire-pit gazebo (firewood for sale at our Farm Stand), but we can't allow fires if the conditions are very dry and windy. Please inquire if you want to do a fire in the dry summertime. The fire-pit is perfect for roasting hot dogs and smores, and there is a rustic grill you can use on the fire if you want to cook tinfoil dinners for example. The property may not be suitable for small children due to ladders, pond, and possible slippery decks or foot bridges when wet. Be prepared for possible cold weather conditions in the winter, and note the outdoor shower and sink will not work if temperatures drop below freezing. Please note the treehouse is in the woods close to our house, so it is a shared driveway and 2-acre yard. It is tucked away in our personal little forest in the middle of a suburban neighborhood so cell phone reception is no problem. We will be nearby if you need something, but your privacy is first priority. Check-in time is anytime after 3pm, and check-out by 11am. We have very friendly dogs named Miley and Trixie who roam free in the yard so they will greet you and want your attention and belly rubs. We also have Koi in the pond, so hopefully you enjoy animals as part of your fun visit. If you are not comfortable with dogs and them being in your business, then maybe re-think your decision to stay here. Please use the leave-no-trace rule of camping so the space can return to its natural splendor after you leave. Guest access Use the right side of the circular driveway for parking near the Farm Stand after the driveway splits, and you will see the lighted entrance of the wooded path to the treehouse if arriving after dark. Free parking for one vehicle. Our dogs Miley & Trixie will probably greet you and show you the way too. Feel free to let yourself in and out of the gated driveway as you need to come and go during your stay. Other things to note The dogs and chickens are very friendly. The dogs are high energy and will want to greet you and steal your shoes or small items as chew toys if you leave them down below overnight so beware. The zipline, tire swing, and rope swing chairs have a 200-pound weight limit so please respect that rule.
