The Wizard Cottage

The Wizard Cottage is located in the gated community of Macatawa Park, on the sandy shores of Lake Michigan adjacent to Lake Macatawa and Holland's channel with the "Big Red" lighthouse. Spacious cottage with a beautiful screened-in porch. Historic community, great for a family summer vacation. The space The Wizard has a beautiful screened-in porch that runs along the front of the cottage. The first floor has a living room, sitting area, dining room, large kitchen, and a full bath with a clawfoot tub. There is a small television on the front porch and another in the living room area. There are three-seater couches in the living room and sitting room (and another on the front porch), that people can sleep on if needed. The upper level has four bedrooms. The first bedroom is a large room running across the front of the cottage with two double beds. The second bedroom is a smaller room with a double bed. The third bedroom to the rear is larger with a double bed and crib. The fourth bedroom to the rear is also larger with bunk beds - a double bed on the bottom and single bed on the top bunk. Each bedroom room has closet hanging space and vintage dressers, with extra blankets and pillows in the closets. There is a full bath upstairs, with a shower only, and plenty of towels. A chair in the upstairs hallway is home to a mountain of beach towels for guest use. There is an assortment of beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys, etc. in the basement for your use, with easy access from a side door that leads directly to the sidewalk to the beach. A back room off the kitchen houses the full size clothes washer and dryer, and a clothes line on the side porch is perfect for hanging swim suits. Guest access Guests have full use of the space during their visit and are encouraged to make themselves at home. The kitchen has cooking oils, spices, utensils, etc. and enough plates and glassware to feed a small army! Other things to note The Macatawa Park Cottagers Association does have some rules. As cottages are all close together, there are quiet hours from 11:00 p.m. until 9:00 a.m. No fires on the beach. There will be a list of regulations at the cottage. The parking is very limited - the cottage only has 2 parking spaces and the lot is policed, so you cannot park any extra cars near the cottage. There is offsite parking available, approximately 1/4 mile from the cottage.
