The Granary Northport . Rustic Modern Seclusion

Voted one of the top 85 Airbnbs by Conde Nast Traveler. The Granary is a lovingly restored two bed + one bath cabin located on 12 wooded acres with a secluded Lake Michigan beach nearby. A short drive to town will give you access to restaurants, groceries, breweries and wineries. Dogs are welcome! Please message us to discuss bringing more than 1. Absolutely no cats or other pets are allowed. We do not have a TV, but we do have fiber optic high speed internet. The space The locals tell us this was originally the granary of the farm which originally occupied 30 acres on both sides of the street (the original farm house is still across the street and slightly north from us). The home was gradually added onto over time and we purchased it in 2017. The upstairs is a large master bedroom with a king size Floyd bed, garment rack with hangers and lounge / reading nook. Downstairs is a one bedroom with a twin bed. All Made in USA (Romulus Michigan to be exact) memory foam mattresses that are extremely comfortable, even for large / tall people. We've never had a complaint (and we were people that didn't like memory foam until we tried these). The bathroom is shower only and has heated floors for those cool evenings. The commercial style stainless kitchen has a fridge / freezer, countertop oven, Moccamaster Teknivorm coffee maker / Barazza burr grinder, hot water kettle, two burner induction range with a hood, large countertop oven / toaster and a microwave. You'll find plenty of plates, cups, glasses, silverware, etc. See photos. We also have a Weber gas grill for your use. We try to keep the propane full, but sometimes it needs replenishing. You can swap out tanks at Deeps gas station in downtown Northport. The fire pit area is BYOW (bring your own wood - please buy locally as bringing wood from downstate can be bad for the environment) and has four chairs. Firewood is available at roadside stands all over the peninsula. There is a washer and dryer which you are welcome to use. The detergent goes in the II (2) slot in the machine. PLEASE do not use your own detergent or softener as it may harm the septic system. Also, please do not flush anything but the provided toilet paper down the toilet and please no food, etc in the kitchen sink. Please let us know what other questions you may have! Other things to note We’re surrounded by woods and open fields, so it’s common to see wildlife like deer, porcupines, and more. Please keep doors closed and store food properly, as mice and bugs are part of the natural environment and would love a cozy night indoors. 😊 Also, we highly recommend keeping outdoor and indoor lights off or to a minimum as there's no other lighting around and the nigh time bugs will be attracted!
