Quintessential English Cottage Estuary Views

Donore is a superb 200-year-old cottage in unspoilt Dittisham, with excellent views over the village towards the river Dart and the countryside beyond. It has a wealth of charm and character throughout and is decorated to an extremely high standard. The large, lawned, garden is planted with shrubbery and flowerbeds. A canopied and an open patio gives you a choice of spaces for you to relax and dine. There’s parking for two cars, plus ideally located for the riverside and village amenities. The space The front door leads into the large but cosy open plan living room with lounge area to the left and dining area to the right. The room is full of character with slate floor throughout, exposed beams and whitewashed stone walls. The lounge area has 3 sofas coffee table and TV. (The log burner photographed is for decoration only). The dining area has a long table that comfortably seats 7. Off the living room is a separate cosy snug with river views, TV and DVD player. A large spacious kitchen features a family size table and chairs, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, separate freezer, induction hob, electric cooker, docking station and a door leading to the utility room where you’ll find the washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a stable door that leads from the utility room to one of the patios and onto the garden. There is also a cloakroom with toilet and wash basin on the ground floor. There are two bedrooms on the first floor, one with a large double bed and ensuite shower with toilet and wash basin. The second bedroom has a super king size double which can be 2 singles – zip and link, (please state preference at time of booking) and river views. The large family bathroom with bath, separate shower, toilet and wash basin are also on the first floor. Upstairs again on the second-floor set into the eaves of the house is a large bedroom with three single beds and river views from the velux windows. Outside: Immediately adjacent to the cottage is the first of the 2 patios with outdoor furniture and views of the river. The cottage has a large sloped grassy garden at the bottom is the second patio areas complete with garden furniture. Parking: There is private off-road parking for two cars. Availability: In the peak season, May, June, July and August we need to keep to Saturday changeovers and a minimum stay of 7 nights. However, please do contact us with any requests you may have and we will accommodate if possible. Out of peak season we don't need to keep to a Saturday changeover.
