The neighborhood is quiet but if you are an avid outdoors person or runner, check out the not so enticing hills around our home. :) They are a welcoming challenge each time I run! We can see the local Dallastown High School and during the school year our backyard is filled with roaring cheers and a display of musical instruments! The nearest city of York is 15 minutes away and is filled with lots of coffee shops, bars with craft beers, unique restaurants that are part of the revitalization project in downtown York, PA. Many are new and unique in their own way. i-ron-ic coffee shop and art boutique offers specialty coffees with unique infusions and don't forget to check out the art gallery while walking around drinking your coffee. For more hidden gems, check out yorkcity.org Some of our favorites are Collusion Tapworks (best sour brews), Holy Hound (great selection of 30 rotating taps that is sure to please any picky palette and seriously delicious food that does change with the seasons). For the foodie lover- The First Post is a must. My husband Jeff loves their steak and crab dish. I adore their tuna poke salad bowl, but only available during dinner time! We also love going to The Paddock, though pricey, they specialize in seafood dishes with a really casual vibe. Another favorite of ours is Moondancer Winery. We said our "I Do's" at this beautiful Italian inspired kind of vibe with it's castle like exterior with great entertainment, views of the Susquehanna River and really good blueberry wine and yes they are open through the Winter months too. There are many festivals throughout the year in the Harrisburg and Hershey area that are unique to the community. The area is a mix of city and rural with many farms with local produce. We are big on apple and chocolate festivals. Also, if you are here during the September and October months check out Lancaster's Oktoberfest and PA Renaissance Fair! The lakes are great for people who enjoy biking, many trails and a few swimming areas. There is also a continuous, paved trail that extends from Harrisburg all the way down towards the Maryland line that's parallel to the Susquehanna River. Baltimore is also 45 minutes away where you can indulge in city eats and be near the beautiful waters of Inner Harbor and of course you cant beat indulging in a key-lime cheesecake (FYi- my fav!) at the Cheesecake Factory! We also created a mini brochure for you that is inside your room that includes wifi access, local attractions and general guidelines. Please feel free to ask us anything during your stay! Uber.
