An eco-friendly, off grid self-catering family style cottages part of the Monks Cowl Drakensberg World Heritage Site in KZN, South Africa. This is the perfect home away from home for anyone looking to relax. Whether it is hiking in the mountains, surrounded by beautiful nature, wildlife and birds, relaxing next to our natural stream that runs through the property with a book or wondering around the shops and restaurants down the road - there is something for everyone here at Highbourne Cottages. The space A hiker's paradise - Highbourne Cottages boarders the Monks Cowl World Heritage Reserve. There are many trails accessible right from our property. We are surrounded by mountains and valleys with 360 degree views of the area. A bird lover's haven with endless numbers of birds in the garden, along the streams and dams as well as soaring high above the mountains. Peaceful and quiet - the perfect place to surround yourself in natural beauty. Guest access Each cottage is private and perfect for couples or families. The garden is enjoyed by all guests. Other things to note We are proudly off grid and rely on solar and gas for power and heating. There are certain appliances that we ask you do not use as it puts strain on our resources. Our water is sourced from high up in the mountains and is filtered down into our water tanks. The water is fresh and drinkable.
