Quarry Point

Situated on a point of land forty feet from the water's edge, the main house and semi -attached cottage look straight down picturesque Somes Sound with the mountains of Acadia National park on either side of the point. We are both retired and spend as much time as possible here in Maine. We enjoy the outdoors, the accessibility to golf, hiking, and boating. The space The main cottage was renovated in 2007 and is bright and cheerful with water views from every room. There is a deck surrounding two sides of the main house with easy access to the shore. The semi attached cabin, with its own deck, is a step away from the rear patio deck of the main house. It too has picture perfect water and mountain views. There is a modern kitchen with granite countertops and a large island opening to a spacious living room overlooking Somes Sound with full length slider door/window sets providing easy access to the property. There is a granite fireplace and an entertainment center for a warm fire and and music on a cool Maine evening. The kitchen is fully equipped . The dining area comfortably seats 8 and flows seamlessly into the living room . Off the living room is is a cozy sleeping room for two with quick access to a 1/2 bath. The master bedroom has an Olympic size bed with a bathroom and shower. In addition it has its own private access to the outdoors. On the other side of the foyer is a wonderful wing containing two bedrooms with two full baths. Both rooms offer water views. The semi attached cabin consists of a large room with a queen size bed, a small pull out convertible couch, a small but full bath , a desk area, and TV set. It also has its own deck with beautiful views down Somes Sound. On the rear deck is a gas grill 4 chairs and summer table. This deck is nicely protected if the wind picks up. Just off the rear parking area is a horseshoe court with a bench for onlookers. Off to the east side of the "point is a wonderful sitting area where you can enjoy coffee and the sunrise. There is good access for wheel chairs albeit a little bumpy. There is parking space for 4 cars. Pets are considered with with owners consent. No smoking is permitted .
