Stunning views at Steinn Farm

Our charming apartment is located only 7 km north from the town of Sauðárkrókur on a small working farm. Ideal for families or friends. You have the apartment completely for yourself during your stay. It has all modern day commodities: living room and modern kitchen with all the usual equipments, terrace with BBQ, free internet, washing machine, TV, central heating and a good connection with closest airport and highway. We are all looking forward to meeting you The space The apartment is located on our farm called Steinn, it means ´Rock'. We are located just north from the town of Sauðárkrókur in the region Skagafjörður. On our farm you can enjoy the great outdoors and you have a spectacular view over the entire fjord and the mountains. We have a few animals for you to meet. There are sheep, a few goats and a cat. Our place is ideal for families who want to stay for a few days or a week and discover this part of Northern Iceland at their own pace and get to know the real Iceland. Just ask us for directions and tips. We are working for sustainable tourism. Our water is coming directly from a mountain spring nearby and is monitored regularly and of excellent quality. The apartment has a completely equipped kitchen, the shop is only a 10 minute drive away ( and open til 22:00h) and we have an excellent bakery in town. We don't charge for final cleaning, but we expect that the dishes are cleaned ( there is a dishwasher) and be put away after use and that you leave the guesthouse in a tidy state. Whether you wish to go white water rafting down foaming glacial rivers; helicopter skiing on the Tröllaskagi mountain range; horse riding in an amazing and unique landscape; sailing to the majestic island of Drangey; delve into history through this saga rich region; relax in a natural hot spring; enjoy the magic of the northern lights in the winter stillness; indulge in excellent food prepared from local produce... or just lay back and relax and enjoy the stay. Just a short drive away on the same road you can enjoy a relaxing bath in a natural geothermal pool, Grettislaug. From the same place you can take a boat tour to the island Drangey and enjoy the puffins and spectacular scenery in the summertime. In wintertime the skiing area is just a 15 minutes drive away, just on the other side of the mountain you can see when looking out your bedroom window. You can just go hiking from the doorstep of the guesthouse, or just relax and enjoy the view. Guest access You live in our guesthouse which is right next to our house. Other things to note If you need a cot or a high chair, just let us know in advance and it will be available when you arrive in the guesthouse.
