Sweet, little cabin tucked in the woods just outside the village of Langley. Perfect for a relaxing retreat or as a home base for island exploration. Our cabin is private, yet conveniently located. It is very cozy and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It has been well-loved by our family and friends and we have now opened it up for your enjoyment as well. Slow down and savor all that Whidbey has to offer. Welcome to "island time." Some of the extras that make this cabin special: -An outdoor fire pit with firewood supplied (not for use from July-Oct) -A lovely covered front porch with plenty of seating and views of the surrounding woods. (perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of wine) -An outdoor dining table for enjoying summer meals outdoors -A nice quality ukulele for aspiring musicians (a gift from one of our guests!). A little music is always fun by the fire or on the front porch. -Games and puzzles. -Apple Tv -wifi -a portable bluetooth speaker -A great collection of books, both fiction and nonfiction ( field guides, area info, and Pacific Northwest natural history) -A well stocked kitchen with staples for your enjoyment (including coffee/tea) -A cozy gas flame stove with remote control thermostat (keeps the cabin very cozy and provides a wonderful ambiance). -For the comfort of our guests our commitment to living lightly on this earth, we use non-toxic cleaning products and scent free laundry soap. -For added coziness and health benefits our mattresses are topped with a double layer of wool felts. The sounds of the forest are wonderful: birds, coyotes, owls, frogs in the Spring… Please note, however, that this is not the wilderness. You will occasionally hear the sounds of humans who share these forests, machines, dogs, chickens, a private plane at the tiny airstrip close by, and even the occasional sound of sport shooting from the rod and gun club outside Langley. While it is mostly quiet here in the woods, there are periodic reminders that we live in a shared rural community. We hope you love it and appreciate it all as much as we do!
