Spacious 1 bedroom apartment in walkable Phinney Ridge. This is our home that we share, and as your hosts we make every effort and care to create a welcoming, charming, stay for our guests. So in return, please be respectful of the space. The space The space is in a fabulous walkable neighborhood close to restaurants, shops, bars, Greenlake, Zoo and public transit. Rates vary based on season and availability of units in the area. Perfect for getaways and conferences. o I sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob o I use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and I wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination o I clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists o I provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay o I comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines This Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) is located in the daylight basement of a charming home built in 1922. Approximately 650 square feet. Private entrance in the back of the house, 4 steps down from the driveway. Parking is available on the street. A Keurig machine and an electric tea kettle are provided, along with coffee pods, a selection of bagged tea, sweetener and creamer. Daisy Mae’s is located 3 blocks from Greenwood Avenue and about 1/2 mile (8 blocks) from Greenlake. It is an easy stroll to a large selection of restaurants and coffee bars, including Herkimer Espresso, Red Mill Burgers, Mai Thaiku, Fresh Flours bakery, Zeeks Pizza, The Park Pub, Chef Liao, Modern (Japanese), Nutty Squirrel Gelato, Blue Bird Ice Cream, Prost German Pub, 74th Street Ale House, and Yanni’s Greek Restaurant (they offer a flight of Ouzo!). If you have a car, it's a short drive to Duke's Chowder House for great seafood. For groceries, Ken's Market is an easy several block walk. Phinney Books is within a couple blocks if you're in need of new reading/viewing material. And, if you’re up for a slightly longer walk to the north, you will find Diva Espresso, Wing Dome, Chocolati Handmade Chocolates, the quirky Greenwood Space Travel Supply Shop, Razzi's Pizza, the Fiber Gallery (knitting shop), and Chuck's Hop Shop (beer shop and bar with rotating food trucks parked on the property. This neighborhood has a lot to offer! Fully permitted by the City of Seattle in 1996, the suite consists of a bedroom, living room, bathroom and kitchen. Flooring is tile (bathroom), wall-to-wall carpet (bedroom only), and bamboo throughout the remainder of the unit. • Bedroom (queen size bed with Tempur-Pedic "Topper Supreme" topper) and 1000 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, large closet, open shelving. • Living room - sleeper sofa (Room & Board's "Berin"); table and chairs to use as desk or for eating; books and games; • High-speed internet (WIFI) • 40" Flat Screen TV • DVD/Blu-Ray and VHS players • A selection of media is available for your use. [Just in case it’s rainy and you want to stay in.] • Kitchen - full kitchen, full size refrigerator, electric range with hood/fan, toaster, microwave oven, basic dishes, flatware, and dry goods are provided. •Keurig coffee maker, coffee, electric kettle, tea bags, cream and sweetener provided. •3/4 bathroom, plenty of towels, hair dryer, iron and ironing board (on request). Folding drying rack also provided. •Back yard - A fully fenced back yard with bluestone patio and cedar deck is available for your enjoyment. If the timing is right, you can pick tayberries, strawberries or blueberries to enjoy! Extra blankets, fresh towels, and an assortment of basic toiletries are provided. Before you book - a few items to consider: Rate: The base rate covers up to two persons. Each person is a "guest." For additional guests beyond two, the additional fee of $20 per person applies regardless of the age of the additional guest, including teens and youngsters. Comfort controls: The unit is not air conditioned, although because it is in a daylight basement, it stays cool in the summer. Heat for the unit is provided by manually adjusted forced air units in the bedroom and living room. Guests are expected to use the units to adjust the temperature and turn them completely off when not in the unit. Steps: The unit entrance is at the back of the house, 4 steps down from the driveway. Inside, the kitchen is approximately 8" (one step) lower than the remainder of the unit. One must "step up" when exiting and "step down" when entering the kitchen. Noise: The unit is in the basement of an older home, so you can expect to hear the pitter-patter of family members overhead. You can expect us to be courteous, but know that your ceiling is our floor. Please be aware that sound travels through the ventilation system of the house, so noise in all living spaces should be kept to a minimum after 10:00 pm. Low Ceiling Areas: There are limited areas in the unit (in hallways) where the ceiling height is only 70” – these areas are marked but you will need to watch your head when moving about. We’ve had family members, friends and many guests over 6' living in and using this space who have managed to navigate the low spots. However, we want you to book knowing the facts. Absolutely no smoking, pets, or children under 3 years old (well, we have been known to make exceptions for younger children if a guest inquires). Laundry facilities are not provided. Closest laundromat is Lunar Laundry at 700 NW 65th, open 6 am – 10pm daily. An iron and ironing board are provided upon request. Travel: • Walking distance to Metro Bus lines (5 and 48). The ride to downtown Seattle is approximately 30 minutes (sometimes shorter if you get the express). • Close to Highway 99 and Interstate 5, Woodland Park Zoo, Woodland Park, Downtown Seattle. • 10-15 minute drive to downtown Seattle and University of Washington. 20 minute drive to Seattle University. • From the SeaTac airport, you can take the Lite Rail for about $2.50 for a 30-40 minute ride to downtown Seattle. We recommend a cab from there if you have luggage. You can also take Metro (bus). Let us know when you book what your transportation plans are and we’ll work with you to make sure the details are sorted out. We have a new family member - yellow lab puppy, Ginger - born 9/15/25 - so you should expect to hear her upstairs from time to time. Please contact me with questions or concerns. We have a new puppy (born 9/15/25) so you should expect to hear puppy noises upstairs. We require photo ID. Make sure your Airbnb profile includes a photo or provide a photo of your photo ID after booking by messaging the Host. The electric panel for our home and other utility connections are located in the Airbnb unit. We may need to access them during your stay and will advise you in advance if any access becomes necessary. We will check in with you a few days before your arrival to ask if you prefer to be contacted by text during your stay. You are required to complete and sign a Guest Agreement covering house rules and Washington state tax requirements notice (the tax is included in the rate you pay Airbnb).
