Sunny, Spacious, and Private. We love pets!
Description
A sunny apartment with a private garden entrance, private bedroom, and bath, living room with wood-grain floor, guest beds, and cooking area. The backyard is fully fenced and perfect for dogs. Our Tibetan Terrier, Atticus, is ready and willing to play. We know you value your privacy and safety and we have worked to give it to you. The space We have set this space up for long-term guests who would enjoy what is, essentially, a large apartment with room for two adults or more. There is a private entrance in the back yard so you can come and go as you please. In addition, the doors between the basement suite and the main house are lockable from the guest's side. There is also a lockable door between the bedroom and the sofa-bed in the living room. We've done some serious upgrading: Wood flooring in the living room and hall instead of carpet, a new metal door and screen door, a tiled and vented area for cooking with upgraded rewired electric, additional storage, new exterior and interior lighting, in-room WiFi extender, and a smart HD television. For home workers: 109.6 Mbps download and 113.1 Mbps upload (tested). Large firm queen-size bed, lots of closets, drawers, and shelf space. Clean private bathroom with shower. Venetian blinds give you total privacy and a nice dark room for sleeping. A pullout sofa bed is available in the living room. There is also a queen-size air mattress for unscheduled guests. Come out the bedroom door and around the corner to a large living room with a fireplace and a desk for remote workers with brand-new wood laminate flooring. Head the other way, and you'll find a full-size washer and dryer next to an all-electric cooking area. A full-size refrigerator and freezer are in the cooking area. Big deck for lounging or just gazing at the backyard - a mass of colors in the spring and alive with birds all year round. Wi-Fi and power extends to the deck if you like to work outside in nice weather. It's completely fenced so your pets can play. We've been upgrading and replacing items as we go along, and we think it's a great space but are always willing to add something new. Just ask! Guest access Basement suite with bedroom, bath, kitchenette, and living room with pullout sofabed. There are tables and chairs enough for you to spread out to work or invite friends over for a quiet dinner. As we've noted, the entire area can be isolated from our living area. In addition, we have just installed a UV-C sanitizer in the HVAC unit along with Filtrete filters. We comply with AirBnB's new standards for cleaning between guests with airing out, sanitizing, and disinfecting. We both have been vaccinated --we'd appreciate it if you'd let us know your vaccination status as well. In the Living Room, we've just purchased a 32-inch Roku HD television with access to all cable channels plus Netflix and Amazon and Wi-Fi access to any of thousands of streaming channels. We have upgraded the WiFi with a new extension in the basement. There is also a full-size desk for working at home and the TV can double as a monitor. There is a storeroom filled with shampoo, soap, aspirin, bandaids, Kleenex, paper towels, and toilet paper just in case you've run out. A full set of dishes, pots and pans, tableware, and various hot plates and tea kettles are on a tiled area with a sink. A convection oven and microwave are available. If we don't have it, we'll get it. We always seem to need another corkscrew. Go figure. The full refrigerator/freezer is in the cooking area across from the kitchenette. Other things to note There are motion-sensitive exterior lights all around the house--including right over your entrance--so don't worry about stumbling around if you come in late. If you find that you are bothered by the cat turning on the floodlights over the door, we can turn the fixture off from upstairs. (We are fairly sure that the cat does it on purpose.) Only one car can park in our driveway without blocking another car in so the rule is that only Ann gets to park in the driveway (except for load-in and load-out). It's not a crowded neighborhood so there is always street parking right out front. The air conditioning in the house can make the downstairs very cool in the summer so we've supplied space heaters as well as plastic magnetic sheets to cover the air conditioning vents.
