The space Your private guest room suite is located on the 2nd floor and is 1 of 6 guestrooms available for rent in this beautiful Victorian mansion. This guest room is beautifully decorated in rich tones of navy and royal blues with a featured paisley print and a sweet crystal chandelier that gives it a modern take on the French Country look. The room features a carved wooden queen bed and offers a desk, a sitting area and a large closet. The room is located on the 2nd floor with 10 foot ceilings. The two over-sized windows face east and south allowing lots of natural light. The custom window treatments include black-out panels. The private attached bath offers a vanity area, ample storage, a heated floor, fluffy towels, Gilchrist & Soames bath products (replenished daily) and a custom tiled 2-person walk-in shower with multiple shower heads. We provide complimentary high-speed internet, whisper quiet in-room heat and air-conditioning that you control, a flat screen TV (smart TV), a working fireplace, lots of modern electrical outlets, bedside reading lights and privacy locks. The Rockland Talbot House, listed on the National Historic Registry, was one of the largest private homes built in the City of Rockland at about 6,600 square feet. Edward Hopper, considered one of the greatest American 20th century painters, used this home as a subject for his 1926 painting "Talbot's House". Guest access Guests at the Rockland Talbot House are welcome to make themselves at home in the many common areas of this beautifully restored B&B inn. Areas include the: Grand Parlor (common television, jigsaw puzzle, game area and comfy sitting area in front of the fireplace); Guest Pantry area; Sunroom; Dining Room; Side Porch and 2nd floor Library. The Guest Pantry area has a refrigerator, microwave, dishes, glasses and coffee maker for guest use. It is stocked with an assortment of teas, coffee, sodas, ice and water. It is available to guests 24 hours a day and the best part is you don’t have to do the dishes! This is also where you can find our homemade pie and ice cream to enjoy! The Rockland Talbot House offers private, off-street parking on the property for all of our guests. Other things to note We believe our vacation rental B&B offers the best of both worlds for our guests. The building has been recently renovated such that all of our electric wiring is new and up to code; stairs and egresses are life-safety compliant; and the building has a full sprinkler system, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms that are monitored 24 hours a day and in case of an event, the owners reside immediately next door.
