NO CLEANING FEES. NO TO DO LISTS BEFORE CHECKING OUT. NO PET FEES. Cozy, private one room cottage (with bathroom), run by a loving, easy-going, non-judging family. Cottage measures 12' x 24' (total of 288sq. feet). Very relaxed environment. Flat rate of $50.00. Wake up happy. The Rubys Rest cottage is located in the back yard of our property, in close proximity to our main house. The cottage is one room. The cottage has a full size bed and a bunk bed (bed space for 4 people). The cottage has clean sheets and towels, along with a mini refrigerator, coffee maker, small smart tv (no cable or local channels, but you can sign into your own Hulu account, Netflix, etc.), and dvd player (about a dozen or so of my favorite dvds are available). Also, a classic Nintendo game set for the nostalgic player. LOTS of interesting books to read. There is a window AC unit for the spring-fall and baseboard electric heat, which does a great job of keeping the cottage warm even on the coldest of nights. The bathroom is spacious and has a stand in shower, with hot and cold water. shampoo and soap provided. There is a covered deck attached to the cottage. We have a chicken coop in the back corner of the yard chickens. there are a handful of cats meandering a out and we have two dogs. Also, we share the backyard with my dad (he lives in a small house in the back corner of the yard). We are dog friendly and don’t charge extra, but maybe bring a blanket from home if your dog likes to snuggle at night. No hard feelings if you want to sweep up a bit before you leave, too, if your dog is a big shedder. We have been renting the cottage out for about 11 years and enjoy meeting the wonderful people who stay with us. We try and keep costs as economical as possible for our guests. We are super easy going and will be sure to make you feel at ease here. All smiles - no worries. Wifi, deck, gas grill, washer/dryer. As much or as little as guests prefer. We live in Damascus, on a dead end road, with very friendly neighbors. When you arrive, simply park in the driveway and walk thru the car port and into the backyard. The cottage will be in view. We have a Rubys Rest sign in our front yard. We drive an old Land Rover discovery and a gray VW wagon, which you might see in our driveway. You are welcome to use our bikes, but most everything in Damascus is a short walk from the cottage. We may or not be here when you arrive (we are often out hiking). Nonetheless, the cottage will be unlocked and ready for you. Simply park in the driveway (anywhere), take the wooden walkway around the side of the house the back yard, where you will see the cottage. easy peasey.
