Private community beach access to Candlewood Lake. (Seasonal private community beach accessible to renters but groups of more than 5 are prohibited) The space You will truly feel like you're on vacation in this charming wooden cottage! Surrounded by trees, the space is airy and modern while still maintaining a rustic cottage feel. Designed by a Finnish architect in the 1960s, the house has unique details including vaulted ceilings, a free-standing fireplace, and large windows that offer expansive sunset and seasonal lake views. It's a retreat among the treetops! Comes with access to a private community beach on New Milford Bay. Seasonal private beach access is for renters staying in the home only; groups of 5 or less. One bedroom (queen bed) on ground floor with bathroom across the hall. Loft (one full bed in loft room overlooking great room and another loft bedroom with one full bed and a twin trundle bed) Winter note: Snow happens! Guests leaving early or canceling last minute because of snow are not typically eligible for a refund and are not covered by Airbnb’s extenuating circumstances policy. Snow is part of daily life in New England. The driveway is steep but we have a new gravel car park just off the road with spaces for two cars (so you can avoid the steep driveway). Walk 10 stone steps down to the house. Except for major large-scale snow events or power outages my policy is not to offer refunds for typical winter storms. In fact, it makes the house even cozier! Guest access Guests have exclusive access to the house including ground floor, loft and decks. Other things to note Pets: Friendly house trained dogs welcome (no cats) but must pay a $50 fee and receive advance permission from the owner. If you bring your dog without disclosing it I will keep the deposit. Length of stay: If there is a three-night minimum and you want to stay two nights, please inquire for rates. Longer-term stays accepted; please send an inquiry. Internet: Wi-Fi speed tested in winter 2023 and is 32 Mbps download and 9.6 Mbps upload. This is classified as fast; able to handle 4-6 devices with HD video streaming, video conferencing and light gaming.
