Ocean View, 4 Bedrooms, End of Road, Near Beaches

A comfortable, well-located, unbreakable old-school airbnb. 1-story house w/5 beds sleeping 2 each, large living room, kid area, 40' deck w/ocean view. 5-min drive to beaches. Wi-fi. Old redwood deck. Lived in by host part-time. Fully equipped kitchen, fridge & range. Quality beds, dressers, closets & big dining table for 10. End of road privacy. 2 of 4 bedrooms are detached from house-very private. Say why you're visiting to ensure a good fit. Please read entire description. The space Not the Hilton but you can relax and not worry about breaking something in my ocean home! Aristotle's Retreat w/high speed WiFi Internet. 1/2 acre lot allows room to spread out with privacy. Two of the four bedrooms are detached (and very private) though just a few seconds walk from the house and its facilities. 1/4 mile downhill to the Pacific and 1 mi. drive to main beaches! Incredible ocean view faces West for sunset every night. Ocean sounds to rock you to sleep. Perfect for personal rejuvenation, king range hikers, board retreats. Lots of private sleeping space including: 4 private bedrooms featuring a king, 2 queens, a full size bed and an extra queen sofa/futon in living room, w/ two full but small bathrooms. Plenty of blankets, pillows and clean linen and towels. Gas heat in main house. Living/great room is 20' x 35' with attached full kitchen on one wall, vaulted ceilings with with large dining table that seats 10. Extra single mattresses stored in the garage. It's also perfect as a solitary retreat or romantic getaway. It is 1/4 mile walk downhill to the Ocean or drive 1 mile to trail heads at magnificent Shelter Cove Beach to the south where the surfers and loungers gather or Black Sands Beach to the north at trail's end for King Range. There is ocean fishing and a free 9 hole golf-course. Fully equipped kitchen with all appliances, plates, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, coffee machine, 4-slice toaster, toaster over, blender, can opener, coffee grinder, microwave, etc. We provide coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, random herbs/spices, shampoo, soap & toilet paper. There is cul de sac privacy, room to turn your boat trailer around, and there's no traffic whizzing by. We have no TV/Cable reception; however, you can watch one of the hundreds of in-house DVDs and VHS's on our four flat screen TVs (two 55 inches, one 42 inch and one 32 inch) in the bedrooms and the living room, each with a dvd/vhs player and remote. Neighborhood Overview: There are only 3 houses on our street and we are at the end. The neighbors are great but everyone in Humboldt appreciates and expects privacy. So we don't allow loud parties. Also, there are chickens two houses down. For that reason we want to be clear about parameters for any dog that may come and visit. Please list your dog when applying. No cats to keep it cat allergy free. We have a landline for local or incoming calls only. We have restaurants, 2 coffee houses, a pizza shop, a deli with Fish and Chips. There is an incredibly well-stocked and reasonably priced General Store a mile and a half uphill. Full disclosure: The house is 45 years old and not perfect.This is the original kind of airbnb--someone's home that you're invited you into--as opposed to a professional, no-one lives there place maintained by an outside agency. So while there is more than enough room for you, you'll still find some of my family's clothes in designated drawers and closet spaces, with some family ornaments and photos on the shelves. There are plenty of hangers, closet and drawer space for you. It's like staying at a friend's house without them there. Everything is washed, counters wiped, floors vacuumed. But we don't use an iron, so towels, sheets, etc. can have creases. Towels pillow case colors, dishes, glassware & silverware don't always 100% match. But there are more than enough towels, dishes, utensils, and appliances, all clean and ready for you. The living room is spacious and the deck is large, even if an old redwood board might creak here or there. Our reviews are good and the house is set up to allow you to feel comfortable. You can re-arrange any of our twenty or so pillows for your comfort; the same with the many fans we have--reposition them as you wish. There are many extra blankets. I use the black out curtains in all the rooms in the afternoon to keep the sun out while I'm outside in the summer, if it's hot. And while there are two bedrooms are inside the house (with 2 sofa beds in the living room) two of the four bedrooms are detached--one a separate very nice enclosed room with a door in the garage and one in the "outbuilding." Both are clean, newer, and comfortable. Each is a 7-second walk to the main house. All beds are in good condition. The fridge is large and is yours to use. I provide plenty of organic coffee and black tea. I keep the sugar in the fridge. The bathtubs are not large and the faucets must be tapped gently to regulate our nice hot water. Guest access You can access the entire house, but we ask that you not use the front garage door. Other things to note The neighbors are friendly but please do no interact as they prefer their privacy in this private part of the world. We are on good terms and plan to keep it that way by not parking in their area or bringing dogs in that might chase or kill their chickens.
