As well we offer uncompromising cleaning and hygiene - additional cleaning, sanitizing and hygiene practices in all areas with particular emphasis on high touch points and hard surfaces. Guest access All guests have use of the entire cottage through a PIN-activated lock. There are two parking spots immediately in front. The house is on one level with 5-stairs from parking lot to front door. We offer WiFi, Sirius/Amazon Radio and Netflix on a Smart TV with Bose Sound System, a well-stocked gourmet kitchen with full-size appliances (filtered water) and balcony barbeque. We highly recommend you download the Bose Soundtouch App to your phone or tablet. It controls Sirius/Amazon radio with such ease. *** Please DO NOT logon to your personal accounts *** The custom bathroom with curbless shower and heated floor/towel rack offers all the traditional amenities; lots of fluffy big bath-size towels. The bedroom offers lots of desk space, a hanging cupboard with drawers; hooks galore. The queen-size bed offers quality linens and both a winter and summer duvet plus lots of pillow choices for a good night’s sleep. The beautiful painting was a custom commission by a very dear friend and accomplished artist. The washer/dryer in the downstairs' utility room is available for extended stays of 5-days and more. Advance notice is necessary to arrange access. Other things to note Port Renfrew is on the edge of the wilderness. Amenities are still few. The gas station is now complete and open for business BUT TO BE SAFE please fill up your vehicle in either Sooke or Lake Cowichan. Secondly, there is NO cell phone reception at all!!! Plan your communications. Our landline phone is for local calls and/or emergencies only. Please advise if you are arriving with your pet. There is an additional pet charge to cover the extra cleaning required. *** We are waiving the pet fees during COVID *** There will be welcoming treats awaiting your arrival but we highly recommend you bring your own groceries (don't forget the liquids) and the kitchen is nicely stocked for cooks; a little bit more than the basics including sharp knives! Comfort the body; feed the soul. Remember you are on the wild west coast and power fluctuations are the norm. Be prepared. We have candles and flashlights available; lots of warm blankets to cuddle and the stove cooktop is gas and can easily be manually lit for cooking BUT we have a generator available for your use that will run everything EXCEPT the dishwasher, electric baseboards and washer/dryer. A manual with "easy-to-follow" instructions is hanging by the front door shelves (right-hand side as you enter). ** If you're not handy, we recommend acquainting yourself with the instructions and generator location ASAP. We are offer the basic amenities plus little luxuries that we expect in our own home. If we've neglected something, please do let us know. This is a growth opportunity for us. Stay tuned for our 2nd bedroom in 2023/24. Located downstairs with separate entry, this space will have its own private deck, bathroom and some kitchen amenities.
