Description
Take advantage of low weekday rates and work from your country home with strong Wi-Fi! Sunsets and sensational views await you at this RUSTIC retreat set in the mountains, just a few miles from Shenandoah National Park and a little more than an hour from Washington, DC. Enjoy the wood burning stove in the winter and the mountain breezes in the summer. Sip wine from the hot tub and gaze down on the Shenandoah River valley below. Visit the local winery (5 mins. away) or hunker down to relax. The space Please READ all disclosures/sections and CAPTIONS of this listing. If it snows more than 4 inches, you WILL need an all-wheel drive vehicle. Some of the hills are steep and slippery, and you WILL get stuck. The rustic cabin has a spacious great room and kitchen on an open plan layout. The dining room has a pass-through window. All the appliances are new with quartz countertops. Wood floors and the pine ceiling give this cottage a homey feel with spectacular views from inside or out. Guests can find privacy on one of two westward-facing decks. Separate bathrooms on each of the two floors allow you and your friends/family to spread out. Please read all of the captions for information about each bedroom. The twin bedrooms are connected to each other. You have to go through bedroom #2 to get to bedroom #3. The fully stocked kitchen and gas grill on the patio are ready for your use. The cabin has a smart TV with Bose sounds system to get you through a cold or rainy day. There are many other nice touches such as cornhole and other games I inherited from the previous (and wonderful) Airbnb hosts. Dogs and children under 2 years old are allowed, but no cats. The cabin does not have toddler safety measures such as locks on low cabinets, but there are two baby gates and a high chair. Smoking is allowed outdoors only. No one else lives on the property. VERY IMPORTANT: no parties, no additional guests beyond the (up to) 6 guests booked officially through Airbnb. One outdoor security camera shows who is coming and going, but for your privacy, ONLY the driveway and front door are seen by me. (I can send you a picture from the camera if you'd like.) I will know if more than 6 people are on the property and will report to Airbnb. (Sorry, I have to be very upfront with this because my license with the county states all these terms.) Our landscaping is always a work in progress! NONE of the outside space is treated by my cleaning service except the hot tub. Expect the fire pit to have ashes. The outdoor surfaces will have pollen or dust. If you use the grill or table, you will have to clean them first. There will be bugs outside. (You can’t control the weather or nature!) Other disclosure: my neighbor down the valley sometimes shoots his gun off, target practice, though it is not legal. Guest access You will be able to access everything in the pictures except parking in the garage and other storage areas. Other things to note The hot tub is treated with chemicals at the start of your stay, but you will have to treat it again if you are staying for more than a few days. Signage and the manual tell you how to do that. If it snows, I have a service that plows the driveway, but not the steps down to the cabin or the deck. You will have to shovel and/or throw down salt, which are provided. IF YOU BOOK IN THE WINTER, I recommend getting traveler's/trip insurance that will cover your costs if you can't reach the cabin. If there is a snowstorm, I do not offer refunds due to weather. Hey, it's a mountain, and this is a common rule for remote/rustic locations.
