Description
Our beautiful compound at the edge of town has two buildings: The front is for living and dining, and the back is for sleeping. It's a short walk between the two through a blooming desert garden and vine-covered pergola. Climb the spiral stairs at the front house to the roof deck for unobstructed views of the sunset, sunrise, and the Milky Way. We are five minutes from downtown. Dogs are accepted with pre-approval and a $50 flat fee--no more than one dog. The space The buildings are adobe with thick walls and high ceilings. Most of the floors and ceilings are made of reclaimed southern yellow pine. Furnished with works made by local artists and designers, the spaces inside are Minimalist Cozy. The garden between the buildings functions as an extension of the indoors, with views onto it from the kitchen and both bedrooms. The whole space is enclosed by a fence and gate. We love going up to the roof at sunset, ideally with a margarita or cold beer in hand, where we can see for some 60-70 miles in every direction—mountains, land, trains, sky. The front building is for living and the back one is for sleeping. There is a full bath in each, as well as a private outdoor shower. Because of where we are and the way it's all set up, we always see the stars at night and the beautiful light in the morning. Guest access The compound is yours for your enjoyment, with a great deal of privacy, as well as a sense of space. All of Marfa--the art, the eating, bicycle rentals, hiking--is close at hand. Other things to note Please do be careful on the roof deck and going up and down the stairs, especially with small children. The full bath in front has a long claw-foot tub and sprayer handle. The full bath in back has a shower. Dog owners are expected to clean up all poop in yard.
