Walk through our front lawn, scramble down rocks to the smelt sand beach to hunt for agates or explore the tide pools, or head down the nearby 804 trail to a 10 mile long sandy beach. Dog friendly, people friendly! A short walk to restaurants, shopping and city center. Our house has a private entrance road. Yachats is a village. and fun. EV ownerrs, there is level II charger in the garage. Barbara's beach house has 3 separate bedrooms, a living room/dining area/kitchen open area that has a stunning ocean views There is comfortable furniture throughout. The master bedroom is large with ocean view from the king size bed, it also has a small office space/desk. The 2 other bedrooms that are smaller, one with a queen size bed and the other, the kite room has a double size bed--with an ocean view window seat. The laundry room is in the garage. Our yard is large with some fencing, but not fenced in. There is parking for 3 cars; the on-site hosts live in the house behind this one. So who is the house named after? Well Barbara was a beatiful red Doberman who lived her 11 years of life with us. As a puppy, she encourged us to go to the ocean and run on the beaches. Without her, we probably would not have bought the house! She passed away in 2011 and in 2012 Sonja, another beautiful red Dobie girl joined our family as a puppy--with a much different personality than Barb. Sonja loves the trips to Yachats and she gets really excited as we drive towards the house (as we do). You will have full use of the house, washing machine and dryer. Our house is well stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, sheets and towels. We have toys for dogs, kids, and grown up kids like books, games to play, kites to fly and puzzles to do. We don't provide cable tv. We do pick up broadcast stations like PBS, NBC, CBS but they vary due to weather.,The view out the living room window is usually better than any TV channel! We also have Netflix available. We have nearby on-site hosts that will help if so need be. They live in the house directly behind this house although the entrance is on another street. Their front yard has a common boundary with Barbara's Beach House back yard. We, Kerry and Lee are the owners live in Eugene and you will be sent our phone numbers when you book the house. Basically, you will be left alone while staying in the house, but on-site host are there is help nearby if needed--they live in the house behind this house. Most the houses around ours are vacation homes; a few nearby houses are year-around occupied. It is a very safe area. Not much in public transportation...a bus to Waldport twice a day. Lots of walking (URL HIDDEN) there isn't a gas station in town...there is a good brew pub and lots of choices of food in walking distance. The smelt sand beach in front of the house is known for agates; the 804 trail is nearby and when taken to the north will lead to a 8 mile long sandy beach. Town is within walking distance for good food, shopping and activities. Make sure you have a near full tank of gas because the one gas station in town is no longer operating. There is a 9.5% occupancy tax collected by the city of Yachats which is included in our house rate. AirBnB will collect a small Oregon state occupancy tax too. AV owners, we provide a free Level II charger in our garage, the city also has a very fast charge station at no cost behind the City Hall.
